Man I love the way he talks. Future Captain written all over him, no slight to Wheeler but Scheifele will be the Jets captain sooner than later methinks.
He sends the right message, does the right thing in the community and has the drive to not only be the best but to win. Hell of an example to set for the rest of the Jets.

Garbage goals just might be the worst phrase in hockey. Going to the net and scoring by beating players to rebounds, reading where the puck will go, deflecting pucks or being able to create and react in a sliver of space is what good goal scorers do.

I was a garbage goal specialist when I played. I don't use the term to describe the quality of the goal, I use it as a name for a type of goal because everybody knows what it means.

When your ppg centre at 6.1 mill says he's not good enough yet.

Saw this in a dusty old thread. Goes to show how good this kid has become.

Where do you spend your time?

Typical HFBoards reaction to a trade. 'We want to pay you 3 times what your player is worth.' 'No way! He's too good!'

It was Seguin and Hamilton actually. Burke was horrible in Toronto

Not to nitpick but two first rounders was probably FMV for 22 year old 30+ goal scoring RFA Kessel at the time. Burke'smistake wasn't in the value - it was thinking that the ******* Leafs were a Phil Kessel away from being a perrenial playoff team. The Leafs were actually brutal and those picks turned from what Burke thought would be mid to late 1st rounders into the #2 and #9 picks.

It still ranks as my favorite trade of all time, just cause it put the Leafs into the complete wilderness for 5 more years.

This is all true.

Somewhere nice
I hope he goes out guns blazing again like last year, was leading the league in points at one point.

Hope little will be healthy to anchor the 2nd line and
Trouba will give buff some help

There is a possibility that he can be as good or better than both until mid year this time :)

Before the 2 run away with it again.

Seriously I want Scheifele to achieve what he wants, even for just few years stretch. If he does it. Jets will go far. And if the goalies hold up. A Stanley

The scary part is, I know he's not as naturally gifted as either Crosby or McDavid but when you hear him say he wants to be better than them... you almost believe him. I think his work ethic is unparalleled. Reminds me of a younger, injury-free Stamkos where you'd hear about how hard he was training every summer and all he wants to do is get better.

I think Scheif might accomplish what he wants to do. He seems to be pretty freakishly determined.
