He filled a spot for 2 years for the cost of a 4th round pick. Plus there was an outside chance he might "get it" over that time. I believe he's a slower learner and wouldn't be surprised if he has better years ahead of him elsewhere. The Leafs no longer need projects on defense.

I want to move on from Polak more than anyone else here, trust me. I just don't see them routinely sitting Rosen or Borgman. Even having them splitting, they're only playing once maybe twice per week. The only other option right now is Polak.

It's also possible they're waiving Marincin, and if he goes unclaimed stays up here, just gives them more flexibility in the coming month. Which they're willing to risk Marincin for.

Pickard would definitely be a great pickup. My question is this, does Leaf Management believe in the event of a long-term injury that McHilleny (sp?) can replace adequately what Anderson brings and means to the team? If the answer is no, then you pickup Pickard because hes started before, he's younger and potentially your backup for years to come.

Don't think we're signing Polak. Lou was very clear about Polak not making the team after Saturday. It could be Rosen, but not sure what the incentive would be to have Marincin on the opening night roster and Rosen not, only for that to change one day later without either playing.

Good news for Rosen - I think Babs is going to rotate Carrick, Borgy and Rosen depending on the matchups

I was expecting both Rosen and Borgy to be on the opening night - good decision (my opinion)

Pickard in, McBackUp out. Marincin clears. Look at trading for McNabb if need be or sign Polak? Instant upgrades.
