Question 1:
"26-year-old Hathaway finished with 6:52 of playing time, that’s fine for a 4th liner of his age. 20-year-old Dube played 6:27 which is not fine for someone so young. Yes the mantra is earn your minutes but with the team seemingly having three good lines, would a trip to the minors until the inevitable injury happens that opens up more minutes be that bad for Dube?"

Question 2:
Down one with four minutes to go with a man-advantage, the first thought that came to mind was pulling the goalie. Moments after the penalty expired Smith skated off for the the empty net extra man advantage. If that was the plan the whole time, which one can safely presume, why not go for the 2-man advantage while on the powerplay.

Answer 1
Dube wasn't very good last night. In the defensive zone he wasn't covering his men properly and was jumping for the breakouts early. Dube has all the skills and potential to be a difference maker but he needs to get out of some bad habits from playing junior.

Answer 2
It is easy to second guess the coaches decision when it doesn't work out. The Calgary PP has stunk all but one game this season and with Nashvilles line-up any time they would have got the puck it would have been fired at the net and with their talent it is quite possible it would go in. Peters likely thought Calgary's best chance was 5 v 5.
