Anyone have a clue why Marc Bergevin compared Karl Alzner to Z.Chara? LOL

He was talking about foot speed. How a few years ago, Chara looked too old and slow for the league and he ended up turning it around and found a way to be useful. He's basically saying that even if Alzner is slow by today's standards, he can find ways to make himself useful even if he is lacking foot speed.

Yeah but Chara is like 6'9" and his long reach was an advantage his whole career. Alzner isn't that size.

Yes, but the subject was finding ways to get around the foot speed. Chara's long reach wasn't much of an advantage when everyone was blazing by him. He didn't compare Alzner to Chara in terms of skill set, by the way. Chara is a HOF'er. He simply brought Chara's issues with foot speed years ago to Alzner's now.
