He hasn't been spectacular like he was at the end of last season. Didn't stand out much in the recent 4-nations tournament either. He's having a solid season but a lot of people before the season thought he'd be the best player in Allsvenskan, which he obviously hasn't been

Obviously this post was a few months ago, but Dahlen is 6th in Allsvenskan league scoring, 3rd in PPG, and tops in scoring amongst U-20 players.

This. Also how is his skating? I see some stuff saying he's a good skater and some that his skating isnt very good...was it bad and he already improved it?

His skating is about average. It doesn't look that pretty but it works.

He's been on a ridiculous tear these last few games, had a point on the last 13 goals his team has scored. Today he was held pointless though so he got traded ;)

He seems to progressing nicely, just like last year his scoring has increased in the last half of the season.

I'm starting to think Allsvenskan is the most underrated league in the world. Forsberg had a really good year in Allsvenskan and was traded for Erat. Now Dahlén gets traded for an other aging player. I doubt they would trade him this early if he had a strong season in SHL or AHL. I'm not saying this is a new Forsberg-Erat trade but it seems like a gamble for Ottawa at this point.

I don't know why, but I'm getting some Granlund vibes from watching a few of his highlights...

So who drives the play more

Elias Pettersson or Dahlen

I know they are line-mates

I wouldn't be able to answer your question, but it is interesting that Pettersson has very high odds of being a Canucks pick this year.

You mean <5%? Linemates doesnt make a player more likely to be picked my a given team. Its BPA.

Not anything to do with Dahlin. I guess I worded that incorrectly.

The Canucks realistically have the potential to draft Elias. My hunch of course, but he should be drafted roughly right around where the Canucks will pick (5-10).
