    Does this year count towards a players current contract?

    Nobody knows. Depends what deal they put in place. If the league doesn't at least give some money back then this year will be lost and all the players will lose one year on their contracts. Those who are free agents become free agents depends on the deal they sign.

    I beliece it will. However they could choose to negotiate it so it doesn't in the new CBA, which could work nicely for both sides. So the answer is yes but maybe no.
