FWIW per the Caps org. listings they've hired Peter Ihnacak as European amateur scout. He was one of the many Leafs scouts axed after Hunter took over a couple years ago. In his first draft with the Leafs in '06 the Leafs took four European players (Kulemin, Holzer, Stalberg & Komarov) that are all still in the league. Tlusty at 13 was a bust but picks that early are made collectively. A year later the Leafs drafted Carl Gunnarsson late, though that may have been thanks to another long-time Leafs scout hired that year (and fired along with him and many others in 2015). Hard to know how much credit he deserves on those first couple years and after that the Leafs basically missed on every mid-to-late European player until he was fired (aside from maybe Andreas Johnson). So a mixed record at best, albeit with ample experience. He happens to be the Leafs rookie scoring leader as well but Matthews should carve that up in due time.
Also, ex-Caps Euro scout Petri Skriko is listed as a pro scout for the Calgary Flames.
