    2006 NHL Entry Draft
St. Louis Blues 1-D Eric Johnson
St. Louis takes the next Chris Pronger.

    Pittsburgh Penguins 2-C Phil Kessel
    Crosbys future go to guy.

    Chicago Blackhawks 3-C Jordan Staal
CHI needs a #1 center with Ruutus health concerns.

    Washington Capitals 4-C Nicklas Backstrom
Very good two way player to compliment Ovechkin.

    Boston Bruins 5-C Jonathan Toews
Leader and very good overall game to compliment Bergeron.

Colombus Blue Jackets 6-C Bryan Little
Brule and Little would make for a great 1-2 punch for Colombus

New York Islanders 7-LW Jiri Tlusty
Speedy two way player would fit in well with the Islanders current crop of prospects.

    Phoenix Coyotes 8-C Michael Frolik
Pheonix goes for the potential HR pick.

    Minnesota Wild 9-RW James Sheppard
After all the talk of the Wild taking Okposo they take Sheppard. One of the smartest players in this draft. Would fit in well in that defensive system.

    Florida Panthers 10-D Nigel Williams
The Panthers take Williams hoping that he will develop into the 1st pairing defensman and pair up with Bouwmester.

Los Angeles Kings 11-C Peter Mueller
BPA. Mueller falls into the Kings laps like Kopitar and Tukonen did.

    Atlanta Thrashers 12-C Derrick Brassard
With Savard leaving via FA Brassard can be centering the #1 line in a few years. Hossa-Brassard-Kovalchuk.

Toronto Maple Leafs 13-C Claude Giroux
Toronto was really hoping Little would still be here but with him already selected they take next best thing in Giroux.

    Vancouver Canucks 14-RW Kyle Okposo
He is a pretty safe pick. I think he is kind of like Dustin Brown except nastier. I think his upside is a good 1st liner with his downside as a 3rd line grinder.

Tampa Bay Lightning 15-LW Michael Forney
With Lecavlier and Richards signed long term Tampa goes for a safe pick.

    Montreal Canadiens 16-LW Alexander Vasyunov
    Minnesota Wild 17-D Bobby Sanguinetti
    Colorado Avalanche 18-C Patrick Berglund
Anaheim Mighty Ducks 19-D Ty Wishart
San Jose Sharks 20-D David Fischer
New York Rangers 21-D Yuri Alexandrov
    Philadelphia Flyers 22-C Artem Anisimov
    Washington Capitals 23-G Riku Helenius
    Buffalo Sabres 24-D Chris Summers
New Jersey Devils 25-C Trevor Lewis
    Calgary Flames 26-RW Cal Clutterbuck
    Dallas Stars 27-LW Michael Grabner
    Ottawa Senators 28-C Ondrej Fiala
Dtroit Red Wings 29-C Oskar Osala
St. Louis Blues 30-D Brian Strait
