I'd say it's 75/25 he leaves at the moment. Only way he stays beyond next season is if they can trade Love for either George or Butler. This Cavs team as currently constructed just doesn't have much of a chance at beating the Warriors. Lebron's not gonna sit around idly watching them win rings. The Lakers with that young core + George would be a better option for him than Kyrie, Love, JR.

If he did that I think that would give him one of the more unique careers of anyone in the 4 major sports

They should... like, the roster.... Everyone not named LeBron and Kyrie should be available to go... Get rid of Love, Thompson and JR Smith with that money going towards Paul Millsap and Demarcus Cousins.

Warriors won't be beat by adding more shooting or more wing players - you need to attack their only weaknesses in size and that number 5 spot.

Love isn't carrying his weight. He's an overpaid 6'7 PF with no power to his game. He can't really defend and he's basically just a spot up shooter? And Thompson, a 6'8 rebounding specialist making that money? Are you kidding?

I'm not a Cavs fan or a LeBron fan, but I don't want him to leave again and it's abundantly clear they have arguably the worst general manager in the league... I'd love to have the keys to build around the two stars, especially with the extra cap that comes with the new tv deal.

It's hilarious how people start jumping on the man because of a rumor about something that might happen a year from now with very little to even substantiate it.

It's also funny the twist the OP has made in the thread title to obviously support his agenda.

This is obviously a big assumption, but if LeBron left and then took another team to a ring, winning finals MVP in the process, has anyone in NA sports won a finals MVP with three separate franchises?

I doubt he'd move to the Western Conference and risk not making another Finals appearance

I could see him taking on the challenge of bringing a title to the Knicks

LeBron doesn't make any kind of difference. He plays too much one-man show and Lakers can't adjust for that.

LeBron James?

No, that's actually not true. Love him or hate him, that's completely false. LeBron plays a great team game, and with a little help from max Love and Max Thompson, it would have been a different series. Probably still the same result, but it would have taken 6 or 7.

I'm not much of an LBJ fan, but not recognizing what he is to the game right now just makes you look foolish. Guys averaging a triple double in the finals but he's a 1 man show and would fit with the Lakers?

A case could be made that's he's too unselfish. If I'm his coach I wanna see him play some bully ball, especially against the warriors. Post up, play below the foul line. He plays too much like a point guard.

Yes he scored those triple doubles but his play style hurt his team. He wants to be way too much on the ball he should give more chances to other players. That style won't work in Lakers and that's also the reason why we call him LeBron "one-man show" James in our hoods. Still one of the best players ever but his vision ain't that good. He takes dumb shots when other player is clearly open.

Lebron going to the Knicks? Spike Lee will sacrifice his soul for him to get there.

They tried before and ended up with Stoudemire. No top player is signing with them because of James Dolan, and especially because of P-Jax.

With Jerry West going to the Clippers and CP3 already there, don't hold out on the Clip Show to lure Lebron.

CP3 needs to re-sign there first - I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch.

Not this time. Woj said that his goal was to bring a title to Cleveland and now that he has done that, he is liberated to leave if he chooses too. The fans can't say **** unlike last time, besides if he leaves they'll still have Irving/Love and a good enough chance to make the finals if he's not in the east. His 30 million+ salary could be used to improve the depth as well.

Who on the Cavs should have gotten more touches? His supporting cast, aside from Kyrie (periodically) was mediocre to poor. Their 4-5 positions are payed like stars but they're most often performing like role players... That's the problem. They needed more out of Love and Thompson at both ends of the floor for the money they're making and never consistently got it. GS had all of their big 4 show up every night. Even when Klay and Dray aren't scoring they're playing all-NBA type defense.

I'd argue you want him shooting more. Not jumpers but attacking the lane and either trying to finish/draw foul or kicking out to wherever the help defender comes from. LeBron played great, he needed his teammates to carry more weight against one of the most potent offenses in the history of the NBA. It didn't happen, but this one isn't on him... Your hood is clueless, he's far from a selfish player.

And why are you talking about the Lakers like they're good? Like they have a structured system that he'd mess up? They're garbage and he'd instantly make them a contender.

Cleveland has a terrible offense that is hidden behind lebron's play. 2 minutes left in the game and they have no clutch player to rely on especially in a tight game. Lebron should be that guy but by then he is either too tired or he turns into a jump shooter.
