Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the names for the following obscure junior leagues. These leagues would have been in operation any time between 1979 and 1996.

Seeing some of these acronyms made me feel like I was reading the stock market ticker. Anyone know any of the names? Any help would be appreciated.

CJHL - Canadian Jamaican-Haitian League (based in Toronto)
CoHL - Coed Hockey League (For those that like playing with girls)
COJHL - Convict Junior Hockey League (For Young Offenders)
EJHL - Eastern Jedimasters Hockey League (for geeks)
GHJHL - Gay-Hetero Junior Hockey league (Fostering non-discrimination and orientation understanding)
GLJHL - Gay-Lesbian Junior Hockey League (Coed legue for same sex teens)
MJHL - Mostly Juiced Hockey League (League for players on steroids)
MOJHL - Mojo Hockey League - (For players that just wanna meet puck bunnies)
MTJHL - Midget Tofo junior Hockey League - (For teen vegitarians)
NAHL - National Artsy Hockey League - (For creative hockey players)

Seriously the CJHL is the Central Junior Hockey League that is in Eastern Ontario. Danius Zubris got drafted directly from this league. http://www.cjhl.on.ca/

BHL -- (Could it be British Hockey League? -- Nothing is listed in this book)
CJHL -- Central Junior A Hockey League
CoHL -- (not mentioned but one is listed as ColHL -- Colonial Hockey League)

EJHL -- Eastern Junior Hockey League
GHJHL -- ??
GLJHL -- (not mentioned but one is listed as GLHL -- Great Lakes Hockey League)
MJHL -- Manitoba Junior Hockey League

MTJHL -- Metropolitan Toronto Junior Hockey League

NAHL -- North American Hockey League -- Tier I

The SJHL, MJHL, NOJHL and CJHL are still alive and well. In fact, the SJHL has had four teams advance to the national championship in the last five years. As Carolina Hurricanes' captain Rod Brind'Amour will tell you, it's not an obscure league.

The South Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SSJHL) is a Junior B loop. To my knowledge, they haven't produced any NHL players. The South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League is a AA minor hockey loop. A few guys in the show have graduated from there. (Brenden Morrow played his bantam hockey in Estevan, I'm guessing there are a few graduates from Notre Dame's teams in the NHL). Not sure what the SSHL would be. Haven't heard of it before.
