Toronto can learn a thing or two from Pittsburgh's zone breakout. The forwards give the D at least 2 options within 10 meters, while the Leafs forwards take off and the D treat the puck like a hand grenade.

This team actually had me all kinds of ****ing heated tonight. So many breakaways by Matthews missed, free tap in goals missed by the whole team, Babcock throwing ****ing Leo Komarov on the top line, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Yeah we didn't have our scoring hats on tonight. If any one of those goes in, we are winning. But that's how it goes sometimes

We had 3-4 good quality chances to score and should have scored.

Leafs up to 40 shots against again. Can't expect to win games consistently when you're basically asking your goaltender to bail you out every game.

Can't win if your core guys on the defence corps crap the bed like this. Polak and Dermott were hemmed in once but they looked amazing compared to the others.

Leafs need some smart defenseman. Ron Hainsey after a terrific start looks terrible. Polak is elite at only icing the puck. Zaitsev looks bad as well. Gardiner is good but he's Good Jake/Bad Jake.

That leaves Rielly as the only steady defenseman. Left out Dermott as he's a rookie and he's doing the best he can.

Rielly hasn’t been that great either.

That is on coaching. Every single winger we have does this. Leafs love the stretch pass but the problem is that they only have two good passers on the team on the backend.
