Penguins only

4th Round, 120th Tomas Surovy(2001)
4th Round, 131st Ben Eaves(2001)
4th Round, 101st Daniel Fernholm(2002)
7th Round, 202nd Patrick Bartschi(2002)
8th Round, 234th Maxime Talbot(2002)
4th Round, 121st Paul Bissonnette(2003)
7th Round, 199th Andy Chiodo(2003)

Surovy and Chiodo have paid NHL dividends already. Eaves just finished his senior season at Boston College and will look to make the Penguins out of camp. Fernholm is a project player who has great potential but years to go. Bartschi is one of Switzerland's best players who probably who should make the NHL in a couple years. Talbot was arguably the steal of the 2002 draft and Bissonnette almost made the Penguins as an 18 year old.

Some good picks here. I'd like to nominate Jussi Jokinen (#192 overall 2001) for my Stars. A 6th rounder that is considered the Stars top prospect by some.

L.P. Martin (9/266 2003) for the Sabres. Tied for 15th in the Q in scoring, which isn't bad for a 9th rounder. Dennis Wideman (8/241 2002) had a great season for London, albeit as an overager (to his credit, it wasn't his best offensive season anyhow), with 65 points and a whopping +52 (albeit, again, on a powerhouse team). That got him 5th in the OHL in scoring for defensemen.

Nothing to stop the presses over, but at where they were selected, they have to be exceeding expectations.

Not bad at all. If Pittsburgh keeps making late picks like these ones(Bartschi is a personal favourite by the way), they'll be back into contention before long. Kudos to their scouting staff. That looks like some excellent work for sure.

Askel

By the way Benning should be fired.

Canucks only:
4th round 114th overall 01 Evgeny Gladskikh
7th round 212th overall 01 Jason King
7th round 223rd overall 02 Ilia Krikunov
7th round 222nd overall 03 Francois-Pierre Guenette

The first 3 seems to be good players especially the russians, Guennette has some potential 9th overall in QMJHL scoring and the leading scorer of his team.

Anaheim:
4th Round - 118th overall - Brandon Rogers, D
5th round - 137th overall - Joel Perreault, C
7th round - 224th overall - Tony Martensson, C
8th round - 232nd overall - Martin Gerber, G
9th round - 264th overall - Pierre Alexandre Parenteau

Rogers, Perreault and Parenteau are prospects who look to have NHL futures. Gerber is an NHL regular now (outstanding backup goalie). Martensson has already seen some NHL ice time and remains a solid prospect, although he may be returning to Europe.

The Stars don't find gems often, but when they do find some in the later rounds, it are mostly, it not all, Fins..

1992: Jere Lehtinen, 4th round, 88th overall
1998: Niko Kapanen, 6th round, 173rd overall
2000: Antti Miettinen, 7th round, 224th overall
2001: Jussi Jokinen, 6th round, 192nd overall

Our Finnish scouts are the sole reason the Stars actually have a future..
