...but Gomez wasn't in the NHL until year 2000? Unless he was playing for the '98 US Olympic team (I can't remember)?

As much as Holik's citizenship does make him an "adopted American" as he put it, I still will always think of him as a Czech.

The same with Nedved regarding his Canadian citizenship.

I just hope that the Czech Republic swallow hard and name Holik, although I could understand if they feel somewhat dissed by Holik's desire to play for Team U.S.A.

I don't understand what doesn't make sense to some of you. Brooks feels that it's politics that kept Holik and Gomez off the US roster. I wouldn't be surprised in the least. A lot of people complain about USA Hockey's politics.
