7.8 million a year wow
Isn't that like half of our remaining cap space
That's a lot of cheddar. So Orpik has to be gone, yes?
What's cap space?
This will be a good deal in a few years
I actually love the player. If they can move Orpik, then sure.
Orpik has to be gone or something that's not enough to sign Burakovsky and fill out the roster
Caps just got ****ed in the drive through.
Man I have no idea how we ice a complete roster after this. Time to package Orpik with Grubauer to get some cap space
I love that they are taking care of the core, but man that's a cap hit with not much cap left.
Work it BMac.
I wonder how Orpik will feel about Kuzy after he's bought out lol...
I thought athletes were supposed to sacrifice millions for the good of the team...lol!!!!!
Man, That's a lotof coin. Surprised he got more then Nicky. Also surprised at all our deals term.
But now there HAS to be something else going on. You can't sign these deals and not have a plan for cap space.
Ovechkin for Josi please
Backstrom and Ovi for....
Kuz had to be signed. 7.8 sounds like market value.
Adding Bowey, Djoos, Walker, Stephenson and Graovac to the roster leaves them with $1,378,227 to sign Burakovsky and Grubauer. Grubauer going to arbitration would open up another buyout window.
@JapersRink: Maybe 8's about to return to his home planet...
Beat folks speculate that maybe Holtby gets traded? Who knows, but man, they are going to need to shed.
Even with grubby traded for picks that's not enough for bura
How much would the Orpik buyout save them? Driving back from key west and can't look it up quickly.
Well. That is some cost for sure.
I like how GMBM works with the long term plan.
Now it's clear some players that aren't in the long term plan are on the outs, and very soon. That's good news.
PS: Maybe we don't know something about Siegenthaler and he's capable of playing right away? I mean, Orpik's to be moved before October.
They cannot buy out Orpik I thought
$3M minus the replacement cost.
