Nucks IMO would take a forward over a defenseman, so thus they would take Sheppard over Williams.

 Either put St. Louis (with Carolina's pick) or Minnesota (with Edmonton's pick) at 30.

OR ... come back and edit this according to whoever wins tomorrow night (which might be the better idea).

Sorry, a real pet peeve of mine at the moment.

Probably but Ohlund has 30 Jovo(UFA) 30 Salo 31(UFA next year) I think. Bourdon is good but he'll needs some help!

I can see where you're coming from but Ohlund has been locked up at a 4 year deal. Also our best offensive prospect is Jannik Hansen who is most likely a 20-25 goal scoring 2nd liner. Behind him is only King, and Balej who have shown they can be second liners(and yet they haven't even proven much). And we have obsolutely no guys in our system who have proven that they can be a first liner at the next level which sheppard can be.

Our defensive depth is pretty good consisting of Bourdon who can become a top pairing guy, Edler, Koltsov, Bieska who can all become top 4 defensive guys IMO.

Offense is our biggest need this year, but I wouldn't be opposed to Nigel Williams either as he's very intriguing.

I like it all a lot except for the Islanders pick of Frolik (and it's not just because I don't like the guy personally.)

Tony Feltrin (the Isles top scout) is running the draft this year and he's made a habit of taking hard working two way players and leader types. Frolik is none of those things. He doesn't fit the profile of a Bergenheim, Nokelainen, Comeau, O'Marra, Marjamaki, etc. at all.

I think that we are more likely to take Tlusty than we are Frolik.

For Frolik I don't heard about Islanders pick but this guy is awesome! He'd the best potenciel in this draft for sure. He could be a Franchise player. I'd a tough year but he still had what it takes to be one of the best player in the nhl.

For Vancouver picks I think a forward could be an option too but Sedin's brother in offensive and bourdon and williams to have a solid D. But Sheppard could be a really interesting option too a big guys with the sedins

Lol, just like the one you have in regards to mock drafts--STL taking Kessel first?

I can't believe people have Stweart to the Leafs. They wont pass on Sheppard.

Nice to meet a scout for a professional organization! I know I'm inciting a breach of confidential information, but could you tell me who are in the Leafs top 10? If not, that's fine, I'm just so jazzed about meeting someone in the know.

Are the Leafs interested in trading up or down at all? Have they received any offers? What type of player do you guys (the Leafs scouting staff) project Sheppard to be? I've read he could be a dominant 1st liner, but some others peg him on the 2nd line.

Thanks for all the info Mr. Insider :)

IF James Sheppard is there at 16, which would be VERY surprising to me, and we pass on him to take another russian, I think I am litterally gonna
I'm barely over Habs passing on Brule last year (still can't figure out that one... :banghead: ), I don't think I could recover from this... :(
