Both are projected as #1 centers. Pick one.

i'd say Brule as well, but being from Vancouver, I've seen a lot of him and very very little of Kopitar.

From what I have seen from Brule this year, he projects to be a superstar if he can stay healthy. His ability to play in traffic and get to a dangerous spot on the ice no matter what is in his way is tremendous. His shot is incredibly hard and very accurate.

Nothing against Kopitar - I really like his upside as well and I love his vision and determination, but Brule does everything Kopitar does (some things better) and is more of a wrecking ball type of player that can intimidate opponents. It doesn't take him long to command respect on the ice. In a redraft I'd be taking Brule 2nd overall last year.

Kopitar also projects to be a superstar IMO. When is Brule expected to be in the NHL?? Will he be on the CBJ next season?? I think Kopitar will surprise alot of ppl next season.

Yes Brule will be with CBJ next season. He made the team this year but got hurt so he was sent down. He's close to a lock to make it next year. He's an incredible player.

I hope Kopitar turns out to be a superstar, but like I said right now I'll take Brule by a fair margin.

Brule Is going to be a 100 point 50 goal per season Centerman, he has so much skill and potential for a little guy. He has great speed, Vision, and Hands ... while not being afraid to get his nose dirty, and backchecks on D. His only downside being His tendancy to get injuries due to his aggressive in your face style of play.

Kopitar may have as much and possibly even more offensive potential than Brule however the intangables aren't there, which gives Brule the edge.

gilbert for me, but unlike what one poster said, it is close.

That is a big IF. Kopitar should not have those problems at his size (although he will be King so ya never know... :madfire: )The reason Kopitar fell i heard was because of his skating, and a lack of ability to stick with a SEL team. Kopitar has really improved his skating this year, and stuck and shone with a SEL team this year. I think many people are saying Brule because he made an NHL team this year, but IMO Kopitar could've made the Blue Jackets too. I think Brule will be a great player, but Kopitar will be just as good, if not better. But im probaby biased cause im a Kings fan.

I thought I was reading a Forsberg description..... Can he be a poor-man's Forsberg?

No I don't think so. Whereas Forsberg was more tactical and cerebral, Brule is more balls out and inscinctive. He possesses a killer's edge.

Possibly a Younger Forsberg with better defensive skill but its not the greatest comparison. Forsberg has unbelievable vision which equates to his great playmaking skills ... Brule doesn't have that kind of vision.. but he is sure close. Brule is much more of a goalscorer than Forsberg for starters. Brule also has a different style of agressive play than Forsberg.

Brule is more physical, faster, and has a better shot. That's why for me.

I can't say until I see Kopitar more. Tough comparing a CHL star to a European who many at HF don't get to see.

Brule is more physical, but Kopitar is stronger on the puck, bigger, and is a better stickhandler. Brule has a better shot, but he has a better shot than most NHL'ers. Kopitar is a great player and I hope he makes the NHL next year.

I think it would have to take something major for Kopitar to not make the Kings next season. I think the Kings probably would have preferred to have kept Anze here in North America this past season but if I remember correctly Anze felt he wasn't ready to make the jump to North America this season after making the jump from Slovenia to Sweden the year before. For once I'd like to see the Kings actually do the right thing and not rush a player and keep from adding Kopitar's name to the list of Kings 1st round busts.

I honestly don`t see much of a difference between Vanek from Austria and Kopitar from Slovenia........Kopitar might have a Vanek type first season in the NHL.
