As expected, a prospect-y game.

Looking forward to seeing Ferguson again, plus seeing Carrier.

Huh, I guess I forgot we signed Matteau.

Look forward to watching it, curious to see how Reinhart and Theodore do on defense.

Barring off-season improvements, Theo probably isn't gonna be too great defensively. In the playoffs he was great at moving and rushing the puck. Well...a caveat, his stretch passes were a little weak. But in terms of defense he was the guy that made me nervous every time he was in the defensive zone.

It's a little odd because it was expected that Theodore would be the adept two way player a la Fowler. But it ended up that Montour was more reliable defensively and generally more useful offensively (pretty much why Theodore ended up being expendable)

I think that when Theodore really puts together his game the defense will come but i don't see him ever being a defensive specialist.

Jake Bischoff, Nic Hague, Brad Hunt... meh, they are long-term considerations.

I'm more interested in how these three do:

Clayton Stoner is a UFA after this season and is playing to not get waived;

Griffin Reinhart has to clear waivers to be sent down and the youngster is trying to save his NHL career from being cut short if sent down and clears in an organization deep in blueliners;

Shea Theodore can be sent down but wants to stick with the parent club but surely sees he's unlikely to stick now, but when the team cuts the roster down to start the season and there's an injury/suspension, he could be called up quickly if he makes an impact now.

I agree, Hague is years away and Hunt is old, but
Bischoff is very interesting, 1 year older than Theodore and playing the defensive part, could be a Theodore-Bischoff pairing for years to come.

I agree with Stoner and Reinhart and add Hyka.

This is now a game thread, I suppose.

Cell phone today takes away my ability to do cool stuff.

Going to the game today. I'm pretty interested to see Glass and Suzuki, as well as whether Reinhart still has a chance at an NHL career.

Practically getting chills at the sight of a real Vegas banner on an NHL telecast. What a pay off this is for those of us that have been waiting years for a team in Vegas.

Killed both off. That's where I'm glad we have someone like Hunt and Stoner who've been there before, I think they did good that kill.

1st PP, let's get one here.
