So how many teams have been eliminated? I thought I read Buffalo, Boston and Minnesota have been eliminated. Any other teams eliminated? I wonder if Bowman is in on this or have the Hawks been eliminated?

Well he has 5 left on the list

The bobfather listed LA, San Jose and Detroit

So those three and two more. The rest of the league has been eliminated

Some odd choices to be honest.

Sharks kind of make sense but mostly don’t. On one hand, we have eight NHL defensemen and I don’t think Brickley supplants any of them except Paul Martin, and Martin is playing well lately next to Burns while Joakim Ryan is out hurt. On the other hand, the Sharks do have a strong history of signing free agents (Carpenter, Karlsson, Heed, Sorensen, Donskoi) and giving them a real opportunity to earn NHL minutes. They also have the reputation that if a player is a bad fit and isn’t getting the minutes they want, Doug Wilson will find them a new home (Nieto, Wingels, Carpenter).

Additionally, the Sharks could very easily make room for him next season. Just trade Brenden Dillon and buy out Martin. The Sharks also have squat in the way of D prospects.

At the end of the day, though, if Brickley is adamant about getting immediate NHL minutes, the Sharks don’t make sense.

I agree with the Sharks, they stuck out as really odd because San Jose is deep on defense. I thought the same about the Kings, their defense is pretty solid and they already have a lot of bottom pair defensemen. Detroit makes sense from a NHL spot POV, but Detroit sucks and has really struggled with developing defensemen. That's not exactly a great way to start your career.

So like I said, odd choices.

Kings make some amount of sense. They’ve got four defensemen on the last year of their contract in LaDue, Gravel, Folin, and Fantenberg. Granted, everyone except Folin is an RFA, but the Kings might be an attractive landing spot due to their defensive pedigree. You don’t see many offensive prospects sign here, but defense and especially goaltending love LA.

College UFA D Daniel Brickley visited DET yesterday. Next up: SJ and LA. Five teams in the mix. Three visits thus far. Decision likely by weekend if not sooner.

oh it is the board of overrating prospects, but he is NHL ready, he will be 24 years old, watched at least 15 games alone this season he played in. Isn't a ****ing doubt he is NHL ready. He is DeKeyser on steroids, and DeKeyser hasn't spent a second in the AHL...Brickley is better than Danny D was at the same stage.

You can tell he's NHL ready after watching 15 college games?

Gravel will be a Group VI UFA at the end of the season.

Danny DeKeyser was optioned down the first year after signing and was on a Calder Cup winning team in the AHL. So not an accurate statement even if his stay there was brief. However, DeKeyser is also a defensive d-man that skates a lot better than Brickley so the comparison doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Bottom pairing PP specialists are things most teams already have in their system. I wish Brickley luck but I think people are a little too infatuated with him at this point. I don't see him as better than our bottom pairing guys right now in Detroit and those dudes are terrible.

Signing Brickley and blocking Cholowski makes zero sense to me.

any wings fan who wouldnt want him signing here, needs to give their head a shake.

If he ends up "blocking" someone like cholowski, hronek, ect... id like to think its because he performed above them vs just playing him to play him.

hope he signs here, but i highly doubt it unless he's looking beyond just next year.
