Unlikely. The Leafs won’t be gifting unproven players NHL time. Something Brickley would very likely want.Hopefully the leafs sign him.

New Justin Schultz
I remember people saying the same stuff last year with Butcher.Brickley is the top free agent this year though, but more likely an NHL tweener then a star

They didn't increase, but we shouldn't write him off that quickly. So your telling me that because of Butcher the odds on an undrafted UFA college free agent have actually increased? Who is the last undrafted free agent Dman to make a significant impact? Both Butcher and Schultz were drafted and decided not to sign with there respective team if you recall
Logic would dictate Minnesota, Buffalo, Colorado and the NY Rangers. Friedge is saying Detroit but I'm not sure why he'd go there since they have a ton of LH vets. Hope the Oilers are in on him. They could use some LH depth in the system.
Lots of teams can provide a spot and opportunity though. He's been to dev camp in Buffalo and his former partner Casey Nelson is signed there. But that relationship was with Tim Murray and his staff, so I'm not sure if they would be on his destination list based on past relationships. Opportunity though? Hell yeah. They can get him into the lineup and he'd probably be their second best LHD even if he played wearing a blindfold and washing back Xanax with his Gatorade.
I don't see many teams that have as significant of a role as Buffalo could provide. He could easily be playing top 4 minutes here next season. Of course other teams could provide an opportunity and a spot with highly limited minutes. That may not appeal to him if he's looking for a significant role ASAP.Lots of teams can provide a spot and opportunity though.
This is a way for good teams to manage cap space. You have one spot open for a bottom pair D and can bring him along at your pace.
The player has a chance to develop further with a very good team and have a realistic chance to be on a Stanley Cup contender if not a winner in the next few years.
Replace an aging player making 5 plus with a young low cost signing.
Lots of elements factor in, where is the player from, does he prefer to play close to home?I don't see many teams that have as significant of a role as Buffalo could provide. Yeah there are a lot of factors that go in to the decision for these guys. Obviously playing for a great, young, competitive team like Winnipeg would have it's advantages as well. Of course he could look at the roster and the pipeline and think he may not get significant minutes there even if Enstrom walks. How many minutes will Morrisey and Kulikov command? How long until Stanley is up with the big club? Is a good team gunning for a deep playoff run going to be able to just hand him that significant of a role? Does he have a snowballs chance in hell of getting any PP time with that team?Lots of elements factor in, where is the player from, does he prefer to play close to home?
Does he have a preference for locales or his significant other perhaps? Does the style of play suit his game? How important is winning and a real chance to win a cup soon? Does he value a teams structure?
The player may find it tempting to play with an elite player ( McDavid ) an offensive D may desire a group of forwards that can finish.
Desire, fit, location, team success all factor in. Not saying Winnipeg is being considered but they have pursued free agents like this, they could slide such a player in Enstrom's spot, save major dollars and use that to better the team overall.
Lots of teams can offer an attractive option.
They won’t gift it, but Borgman stepped right in, pretty much. Carrick still sees time, and Polak has a regular shift with the Leafs.Unlikely. The Leafs won’t be gifting unproven players NHL time. Something Brickley would very likely want.

From the Winnipeg perspective if there is mutual desire from player and team, it would be a positive fit for Brickley.Yeah there are a lot of factors that go in to the decision for these guys.
