Yeah. Also not sure the Rangers would want it. The gap between Karlsson and Shattenkirk isn't quite as big as the gap between Zuccarello and whoever would come out of the press box to replace him.

Yes the gap between Karlsson and Shattenkirk is immense. A superstar dman to a 2/3 guy. But it isn't as large as that between a good top line forward and a press box scrub like Peter Holland.

I guess Andersson and Chytil are NHL ready but they are probably making the team regardless of what they do with Zucc.

Players don't sign deals so that the team they are joining has to get weaker by giving up more assets to the team they are leaving to get them.
This is fiction. Anyone who says they're trading for a signed player x is using wishful thinking at best.
