I just don't think he'd a high end #1C.
I think he's probably on the top end of the Stepan/Turris/Horvat level of centers.

Hoffman, on the other hand is criminally underrated.
I think in the right usage, he could put up a ton of points with those hands and shot.

I agree that he’s not a franchise centre.

Only so many of those to go around.

Duchene.

JVR's game is to be a net presence and score in tight. He is highly effective at this on the PP however due to his sluggish skating he is largely unable to provide this at even strength. JVR also has to be sheltered from top lines as he is a defensive liability and not effective along the boards in his own zone. JVR is good for around 30ish goals a year however he has little positive impact on the game in any other area. I wish him good luck in Free Agency.
