I just read this: Balej has taken over the lead as the top scorer for the Habs AHL prospects. Playing on the top line with Hossa and Gratton, Balej has racked up the points and has been a real force in both ends of the ice. In two games, Balej was able to pick up six points as he exploded offensively, feeding off the confidence Coach Jarvis has in him, playing him in any situation, including on the penalty kill which he hasn't played much of in the past.

So he could be a great scorer in the future for the Habs! :handclap:

What's the deal with Perezhogin?

Here is some things about him: The season hasn't gone exactly as well as Perezhogin would have liked, as he seems to struggle with the smaller ice surface at times, but has shown flashes of great skill at others. He plays mostly on the second line, and has been able to show off his quick release. But the points haven't been there as often. The addition of fellow countryman Alex Svitov will hopefully help Perezhogin overcome the language barrier.

He's having trouble adjusting to the smaller ice surface. He has some flashy moves, but with the tight checking, bigger/stronger players of the AHL vs RSL, he can't pull off all his fancy stickhandling moves. I've only seen 4 or 5 games this year, but he scored an unreal goal in one of those, and had several good shots in the others. He has NHL speed, skating, acceleration, and a wicked wrist shot, but his lack of strength and physical play is a concern for now.

Balej is also a fan favourite :

HOMETOWN HERO OF THE GAME LEADERS (Hardest Working Bulldogs Player at Home):

Player Points
1. Jozef Balej 60
2. Jonathan Ferland 20
Tomas Plekanec 20
3. Alexander Perezhogin 10
Mike Komisarek 10
----------------------
If Balej can keep it up this year he could produce like Ryder does and be a Habs as soon as next year .

Alex only scored 2 goals so far this year ( RW 25gp 2g 6a 8pts ) we can blame ''poor linemates'' because the Dogs have 4 top flight center Gratton ( AHL leading scorer ) , Higgins , Svitov and Plekanec .

As Montreal said He has NHL speed, skating, acceleration, and a wicked wrist shot, but his lack of strength and physical play is a concern for now. I think he'll do like Balej last year and put low numbers and adjust to PRO hockey and then came out strong next year just like JB did .
