Why are you bringing football into this discussion? The revenue is much greater there and by spending smart, you can still make a profit in the Premier League. Hell, even United made a 50-60 million euro profit despite spending a lot.
When he used the example, there is some reason for it. Maybe you do not get the point?

Maybe you're the one who doesn't get the point in bringing the most popular sport in the world into a discussion about a sport that isn't even close to it's level in popularity nor finances. Also, repeat much?

I did not complain about the argument, you did.

At Jatkoaika, several Jokerit fans have said that as long as the team's majority is owned by a Finn/Harkimo, they're okay. But if it were to become 100% Russian, there would be an exodus.
May I remind you your words? "At Jatkoaika, people say Jokerit will be back in Liiga for 17/18 season. True!"

An exodus is clearly an over-exaggeration, however it would do more harm than good to the franchise. Who knows what would happen with 100% Russian influence? Sure, the team would probably keep going on as normal but I doubt sponsors would be interested having those connections to Russia.

I discussed this with a friend of mine who’s also a season ticket holder, he had heard rumours about Chinese ownership.

There were rumours even in the media about possible Chinese interest in ownership over a year ago already but nothings happened.

Jokerit have to give out a lot of free or cheap tickets to even reach 8000 against the likes of Yugra or whatever

Define a "lot of". Preferably with a source other than random Jatkoaika posts. Giving tickets to junior teams and corporate sponsors is common and it happened when Jokerit were playing in Liiga. Hartwall Arena is the biggest arena in Finland so they can give out more tickets than other clubs.

Attendance numbers are declining in Liiga by the way, so there seems to be a general trend of worsening ticket sales. In that sense Jokerit are doing quite well, as their average attendance is a bit better than last year's. Still, they're struggling with other sport clubs in Finland because people are increasingly choosing to spend their money and free time in other places than sport venues.

All their stuff about the 50th anniversary is hilarious/pathetic. This is year 4, that's all The real Jokerit is long gone by now. Hopefully we can see it resurrected soon

Tbh, if jokerit is sold to foreigners for over 50%, no matter what country, its RIP jokerit.

Finish way of doing things is so different from Russian. I like jokerit alot but its because i feel its finnish team in KHL. To me hjallis is a hero and Rotenberg is half finn. A good situation.

Hey guys,

I am flying to Helsinki for work and going to the SKA outdoor game on the 2nd of December. Does anyone have a website where I can find some more info? The only site I could find is this one:

Helsinki Ice Challenge
l

There is tv series Jokerit inside or something, bit like road to winterclassic series. Info about team and probably about the ice challenge game.

Jokerit Inside | Viafree

May need to register but is free, not sure if it has subs...

Looked nice (from home couch), the stand seemed like it was positioned close to the rink which is nice. Anyways, you would have to PAY me to go watch outdoor hockey game, standing 2 hours straight and freezing to death in packed crowd! Not for me...:naughty: I would avoid even nhl outdoor games during winter time, too cold, too long distance from the rink to enjoy. :sarcasm: Yep, Ska had slighly more skating power, nothing new there. so which line do you expect him to play in? with Jensen-Regin on the 1st line, with Tolvanen-O'Neill on the 2nd or 3rd with Norman?

Looks like the standings table is starting to get more even at this point of season. Bottom teams are winning more and top teams are losing more frequently.

Khl probably too needs to look at the Coach's Challenge rule as does Nhl (almost after each season), it's not working out too well. In yakaterinburg and lada games it was a total mess once again where you'd get a sudden 10min game pause in the middle of a period. Actually got even more hilarious as i think jokerit then challenged their coach's challenge :laugh: Cant blame the coaches, it's almost their duty to challenge now in every game, blame the rules.

One idea would be to ban coach's challenge altogether from regular season games or set a maximun of 1 min or something similar as game pause length due to challenge.

Moses back in picture. Add moses and get tolvanen back and it is starting to look like pretty dangerous offense. This is assuming moses can still play at the same level he did last khl season with jokerit.

Something's seriously wrong with the game structure of Jokerit. Not only looking very slow, complete lack of speed, but quite ineffective generating chances it seems.
Probably closer to 90% of offense was dump and chase once again :naughty::nod: while ~10% would be acceptable... 12 games remaining of regular season. Hard to say if it's worth trying to tweak the gameplay too much now before summer anymore or just rest and avoid overcoaching and hope the best for the playoffs

Team's in for a serious test day after tomorrow. Probably going to watch in person how they fare against a nearly healthy AkBars. Good benchmark game for both teams before the final stretch of regular season.

Yes indeed... However I must say Olympics can have an effect on the team too. Some players might avoid injuries tiny bit considering the conference standings currently. Luckily there are not many games before olympics. Kinda undersand nhl's move not to let players to go to olympics this time.

A quick calculations at this point of regular season. Numbers might include some errors too dont take 100% word of these... CSKA strength surprising. Jokerit playing a good season statistically speaking it looks.

Team [Sog/gp] / [Sag/gp]
ALL SITUATIONS, includes pp, pk etc. These are not 5on5 numbers which are more usable imo.
