So there are rumors that Jokerit might have Nicklas Jensen next year...traded the right for Larsen away and got the rights for jensen.

Think this could be another good fit. Jensen has been very good on big ice at the last few WCs.
Hopefully they get him. Might fit very well.

They also got Tim Erixon's rights by dealing Larsen's.

Karri Rämö signed. Hopefully that means that Helenius is gone and Rämö and Zapo can battle for the nr1 position.

Sami Lepistö from Ufa is the latest addition, 1 year deal with an option for another.

GM Kurri said that they're looking to add another high-profile D-man and at least one top 6 forward. Depth acquisitions are also expected.

So far so good, but they desperately need a legit 2nd line center.

D Tommi Kivistö from Avto to Jokerit. Defence is now set, if Genoway decides to extend his contract. Otherwise they need to replace him with an offensively gifted D-man.

They still need a 2nd line center and a good top-6 forward.

Do you think Jokerit would be a contender with those additions? Or just a good team who can be expected to advance one round in playoff? It is really time for Jokerit to shine now as they've extended their "contract" with KHL. Hope they can find what they need and with an easy mind this time knowing they'd be in this league for a foreseeable future, go for a title push. Never easy when you are against the likes of SKA, Loko and CSKA but still possible. I don't want to see another playoff miss or first round exit this time!

For sure. Last season they had basically two functional lines and two redundant lines, with guys like Hishon, Salminen and Niemi underachieving spectacularly. Goaltending was somewhat shaky as well. Rämö will be an improvement there and a decent playmaking center coupled with a good forward (perhaps Pulkkinen) should give them four solid lines.

Even with all the problems last year, they mounted a good battle against CSKA, so with a clearly improved team they could seriously challenge the top teams in West. It was also the first season with coach Jalonen and it always takes some time for a team to gel under a new coach, so I'm expecting them to play more coherently next season.

Most likely a game of any sort, hopefully an outdoor game although the Olympic stadium is under construction until 2018.

The other alternative would be playing at the Telia 5G-arena, but its capacity is just 10770. Maybe two games, one in Hartwall and one in the Ice hall?

It's just too bad the game doesn't have any real meaning to it...

It might just be about anniversary years: Finland 100 years of independence, Jokerit 50 years, HIFK 120 years, Helsinki 100 years as the Finnish capitol.

Jokerit finished 2nd in the club rating after the 2016/17 season. Nice reply to people who wanted Jokerit to leave the league :D

It's certainly not out of loyalty to the KHL. It's a shame that such a great hockey country as Finland had to have someone like Harkimo screw it up (not being competent, selling the business he couldn't figure out how to run to Russians).
Jokerit in the KHL is a stain on Finnish hockey. Hopefully it ends soon
