You sure Laine is exempt? I think rules say first and second year players, but Laine will be entering his third year next season. I'm not 100% sure either, but should you be correct, I could change my protection list as well.

Commish?

Update: So I saw on page 2 you said Provorov and Konecny are exempt, both are in the league as long as Laine is.
Since this is a simulated Expansion Draft which takes place after the 17/18 season, shouldnt all those players be protected since they're entering their third year?
I don't care either way since this would allow me to not protect Point for example, just asking.

Since this is taking place before the 2018/2019 season, players who are currently in their second season are protected. So Laine is exempt. I'll clarify that in the rules .

This is how it worked with the NHL's expansion, right?

Just to confirm, guys like Barzal, Beauvillier and Ho-Sang are exempt? None have begin their 3rd years of pro hockey.

I would also be on board with an entry draft after this but it would be good if that was decided before we start trading picks and such.

Yes, they're exempt. I'll put together a lottery and a mock draft order as well, so we will be doing a draft.

You can honestly do like a 3 round entry draft

If enough people want to do just a 3-rounder, I'd be happy to switch to that. We could always just cut the draft whenever it dies down too. I personally like full drafts, but I get the appeal for shorter ones too.

An expansion draft + 7 round mock might be too long for you to take control of and keep everyones interest. I would do it but i see the appeal for just 3 rounds.

When we start Atlanta is willing to pick up bad contracts for picks/prospects/young players. Probably not until the mid/later rounds though. Want to pick up a few decent players with my first couple picks.

@Skin Tape Session

I'm leaning on the what side? I was kinda hoping this would have gained more interest quicker. Feel free to drop out tho, I don't expect it to fill up unfortunately :(

It's also almost finals week at my university so I have been insanely busy. Again, I was hoping this would fill up before now so I'd have time for this before finals start.
