I remember playing space invaders in high school right when I was coming into drinking age. Some of us used to go to the bar at lunch to play table top version (with the joystick....the button version sucked) I remember being taught how to beat the game. If you shot exactly 15 shots before killing your first space ship that ran across the top you would guarantee 300 points. Then you would shoot exactly 13 shots between every other spaceship and you would get 300 points every time. One of us always had the high score there but someone would unplug it and erase the list from time to time. It would take one play to reach the top again.

When I would play the same game at the same bar at night people watching would always wonder how I was so lucky to get 300 points every time I killed a space ship. We never told the secret.


I don't do video games anymore but I remember when I loved them

I was good at like every single one of these games. Except Dragon's Lair. That quarter-eating bastard always got the better of me. But man, was it pretty!

So, is there a hockey game tonight or something? Oh yeah. Only THE BEST SERIES OF ALL TIME IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!!!!! Seriously, I'm so freakin' excited! I don't just want to beat the Preds. I want to destroy the Preds. I want to hear them openly weeping at the end of the game. I want them to question their life choices. I want nothing left of their arena but a smoking black crater by the time we pull out of town.

This GDT takes me back, thanks for the memories! I played both pinball and arcade games, with my favourite being Moon Cresta. I don't know how many quarters I put into the arcade at the Assiniboine Downs when my parents used to take me to the races, at least until I bought an Atari 2600 (which I still have)!

This is going to be one tough series, the Preds are pretty good, but the Jets can beat them!

We need to win at least one of the first two games in Tennessee (both would be better)!
