Maybe 1 year is all the Jets were offering , show us you belong in the NHL .Would have thought a 2 year contract would have been more likely. Maybe the kid is betting on himself to prove he is starter material.
What are the Jets sitting at cap wise after this ?

Around $68,344,999.00 I believe.
Add 3 to 4 million in bonuses and we are sitting around $72 million

Bit surprised that it's not two years. Jets now have 8 roster RFAs to sign next offseason.
Yessir, could come really close to the cap this season. Which I find funny because I remember hearing that the Jets would never be a cap team, and that their internal budget would not allow it.
I guess we can expect big ticket increases next year.
Another over payment by Chevy. Washington signed Grubouer for $1.5.

Meh. It's a 1 year deal, and the Jets aren't in cap trouble at the moment.
$2.75 for Elliot. $4.1 for Mason. It adds up fast.
