That was in response to someone who criticized Komisarek for not going for the big hit in pre season exhibiiton matches. Volchenkov has missed extensive time due to concussion and his shoulder injury. "Putting guys in the hospital" has a way of coming back at you in the league.

I'll never forget A-Train's hit on Jonas Hoglund when he was playing for the Leafs. The guy's head hit the ice and just bounced back up. He must've been seeing stars after that one.

I think Volchenkov will play a lot more games next season. When you think about it, his injury was a fluke when Bergeron hit him. Same with Varada. Those things happen.

Which would only prove that not only is Komisarek bigger, faster, and stronger than Volchenkov, he is also a lot smarter. What kind of idiot is "sending people to the hospital" in training camp?

Anyone in the league can take 100 foot runs at other players and connect about 1 time out of 10. Jordin Tootoo does it all the time. But it isn't smart percentage hockey, and if you use the fact that Komisarek didn't try to kill some 175 pound kid on an amateur tryout in training camp against him you are working backwards.

Were you at the rookie tournament?

You couldn't possibly have been because you wouldn't be making things up if you were.

Volchenkov stretchered a Florida prospect when the Panthers prospect tried to hit Volchenkov. Volchenkov wasn't taking runs at players. He was laying the body on them in the corners. That is, if they'd go into the corners with him.

If Komisarek can't intimidate 170 lb 18 year olds, how is going to get any respect from real NHLers? The guy is a big p***ycat and any stories you make up about him aren't going to change that.

Komisarek is taller then Volchenkov and he might be faster but that's about it.
