Thanks Gianpaolo, you are correct. I forgot to add the 1993 Worlds.

So this means that Italy and Canada have met 15 times in Worlds and Olympic competition, with Canada winning 13 games and tying 2 others with no losses.
The Goals For would total 96 goals for Canada and 17 goals for Italy.

Lenno -Lake Como-
Tonight (02.09.2006) test-match in Milan
Italy - Kazakhstan

Giulio Scandella (muscle injury on his left calf) will be replaced by Nicola Fontanive, but only for this match. He could recover for the OG

Italia - Kazakistan 1-3 (1-1; 0-2; 0-0)
1-0 PP 16.51 Margoni S. (Signoretti A.-Cirone J.)
1-1 PP 19.39 Samokhvalov A.(Alexandrov S.-Upper D.)
1-2 39.20 Alexandrov S. (Shafranov K.- Polishchuk F.)
1-3 39.48 Shemelin D. (Koreshkov Y. - Koreshkov A.)

A tough game. Italy played well but 28 crazy-seconds has spoilt the match for the Blue Team. :banghead:

I'm interested to see how Carter Trevisani does in this tournament. He's had an interesting career, starting out in college, then dropping out to go to the Ottawa 67's. He was drafted twice but yet never played a single game in the minors. He just went straight to Italy, but seems to have played well there.

Carter is a buddy of mine. lives right down the street actually. I know he wants to have a good tourny because his dream has always been to play in the nhl. So lets hope he has strong games against nhl filled teams so gets picked up by somebody in the NHL.
