Are they getting kicked out of UEFA? More important question.

Iceland threatened to pull out of Eurovision if Israel wasn't kicked out. Israel and Iceland compete in the same division of the IIHF World Championships, Division II-A. 2023 IIHF World Championship Division II - Wikipedia

My guess is Iceland forced Israel out, which would be the most notable hockey related thing they've done since Gunnar Stahl and crew choked in Junior Goodwill Games.

Israeli hockey emerges. Brothers Buium and Kaplan are among them.

David Levin played next to Quinton Byfield in the OHL. Probably the best player of Israeli nationality in history.

Tournament in Serbia, next to Islamic territories with United Arab Emirates in the group, IIHF protects itself against any risk of attack but it is an admission of weakness.

The fear of knowing about the Munich attacks is precisely the objective of terrorism, to intimidate, to scare. We must not be afraid of terrorism. This incites even more fools to act.

Posting this as informational only and making no comment about why or whether it's the right thing.

The IIHF is ruling Israel out of all international tournaments "for the time being" (i.e. maybe indefinitely, or maybe just until further notice?)

So is being involved in conflict the bar here?

This is all so dumb

For safety and security reasons. Interesting.

That’s what the CHL said about not drafting Russian kids, and I’m pretty sure that’s the ‘official’ reason Russia wasn’t invited to the world juniors

Whenever they want to f*** you, don’t worry because it’s for your safety
