That has to be the worst analogy ever.. lol but whatever

You mean to tell me that Garth has been good all this time? Garth Snow has a terrible drafting record and his cronies running the show are just YES MEN. Which is why I go back to my original argument. Do tell me how keeping draft picks in the minors over journeyman help player development? Tell me how a top 5 draft pick (whom isnt that good but was the best player available) is actually learning under Thompson but yet lets play Alan Quine and Shane Prince? Lets have Tanner Fritz play over Josh Ho-Sang. Lets have Brian Strait play endlessly over Ryan Pulock. Lets have Marty Reasoner play on the Powerplay. Are you serious???

Ill take Ho-Sang and 3 goals over Alan Quine!!

Nashville has always played amazing regular season hockey in the last decade but they run into the brick walls that were Chicago and LA. They broke out last year and I say they have a chance to get the cup and if they dont I wont say thats a failure. In the last decade the NYR have had 2 ECF appearances and 1 SC appearance and I call that a success. Meanwhile in Islanders country a 2nd round appearance is considered great achievement.

You are right about HF its fun but what makes it horrible are pretentious people pretending that they know everything. Going back to my original argument.. Brent Thompson is awful. He hasnt developed jack **** and this whole "system" has been an abysmal failure. We can agree to disagree and unfortunately You have a right to be wrong.. Good Day!

i think Thompson has no choice but to follow Weight's and Cappy's systems. he doesn't get to choose. he gets to make in-game changes, but if Snow tells him to treat a player a certain way, do you think Thompson is going to refuse?

i don't watch enough to know if Thompson is good or bad, but i am certainly smart enough to not make assumptions. people that do, usually wind up looking silly.

and a great day to you too!

let's go Isles!

p.s. feel free to cheer the boys on every once in a while. it might make you feel better ;)

I'm sure the disgust is not related to the individual players but the only way anyone here can make a difference is to not support the group since they will always be paid but
it does take away from the owners pockets who are responsible for the management group who are there to add value to the franchise and not kill it.
Garth has been given way too much time to build the franchise name and from what I still here on local media about the Isles has really changed alot so
in my books its a fail. I repeat myself when I say that someone who has worked with this group already in 2016 Early 2017 has stepped away telling me they are not Serious and told
them when they are , give him a call.
I hate to see JHS wasting away when he should be up with club learning on the job without worries that a mistake will cost them a playoff spot. Add MDC for rest of season to see
if we are going to move on from him

Sorokin 3 shutouts I’m first 4 playoff games this year.

I know his team his strong and it’s the KHL but the kid makes the saves when it counts.

We need to really put in a full force effort to get him here somehow. We need to see what we have.

That wood be great if we could actually get him over here.

Bellows final 3 games this weekend starting tonight against Seattle.

He needs 1 more goal to reach 40 on the season and 70pts. Nice round numbers.

Bellows scores to reach the 40 goals and 70 point marks. Solid season for him in just 54 games played.

Prorated over a season his totals are 53 goals 40assists 93pts.
Those numbers would rank him 4th in goals scored and 11th on total points in the WHL

Not earth shattering but pretty solid and respectable.

Here is a stream for the CSKA-Jokerit game #2. It starts at 10am Est (in a half hour). For the less tech savvy, I can't promise this will work without getting creative.... I believe it should though.

Sorokin just got another shutout 26 shots, 26 saves.... numbers aren't posted yet, but they were loony toons before (.20gaa/.990SV%). I believe this is his 5th SO in 6 games

He’s unreal, which is why he will play it out in Russia until he can sign with anyone and will sign dynasty at the current time. :sarcasm:

To be fair, we have no idea how he would fare here. CSKA plays a strong defensive game infront of him and the Islanders....would probably make Pat Roy look awful.

Strong chance CSKA plays SKA in the Western Conference final for a chance to play for the Gagarin Cup. Shestyorkin hasn't played a single game for SKA in the playoffs though for whatever reason.

Obviously the KHL is an inferior league to the NHL but it’s still good. And even though his team is great and a powerhouse he’s still making the saves he needs to make. It’s not like he’s winning games with an above 3GGA and a .900SV%

If you want to talk expectations that’s fine. Obviously you can’t expect him to put up those numbers in the NHL but it’s 100% appropriate imo to expect him to become a legit starting goalie.

He's making the saves, but he's not facing the same amount of high danger shots every night. It would take CSKA three maybe four games to give up 50 shots (it took them five games to give up 100 in the playoffs so far)..... and the shots they give up aren't coming off a Hickey turnover from behind his own net right on the blade of Oshie in the slot uncontested. I do think he's got a future in the NHL, I'm just not comfortable anointing him star status just yet. Very promising though
