Gary Bettman's a lawyer and likely understands the massive negligence lawsuit that would ensue in the event that a player gets injured after the NHL insists they're healthy enough to play, despite the player expressing concerns otherwise.

But that's assuming that the league actually cares about enforcing this, which they don't -- just look at the Lupul situation.

Good point. With all the lawsuits going on, if they made a player play and it got worse, they would be screwed.

Lupol even came out on social media implying his injury was not what it seemed, they still did nothing. LTIR has such a low bar.

Yet Hossa went through an evaluation by the independent physician.

Who confirmed he was allergic to playing hockey, or something like that.

I'll believe cap recapture will be enforced once it's actually enforced, and nothing suggests that it will be up until this point.
