Taylor Hall leaves game with left knee injury

Figured we should get this discussion going.

What we know:
Hall took a knee on knee hit.
Tried to play a shift afterwards but left favouring his knee after trying to take a shot.
Left game but walked out of dressing room without crutches.

Any updates so far? How long do you expect him to be out?

Edit: Same thread got posted just before. Merge please?

sure looks like a torn MCL on that replay from behind (where hall takes the shot right before he leaves the game)... his leg completely gives out, you don't have that reaction if you just have a hyper-extension

@GenePrincipe: Taylor Hall just walked out of Edmonton dressing room. Not a doctor but no major limp and didn't seem to be overly favouring his left knee.

Good sign!

Hopefully just a few games. Such an awkward stupid play. That's what happens when you're on the ice with guys that don't know how to play in the NHL.

Yes, it does if you tore your ACL (which can happen when you hyper-extend your knee). I know from experience (x2). Nonetheless, we can all guess about the extent of the injury, but an orthopedic surgeon and MRI will most likely be needed to gain a real diagnosis.

I have it on good authority that this photo of him in the dressing room is legit.

If it's under a month I'll be happy.

The signs point to that being likely but since this is the Oilers I expect season ending surgery.

Haha Gene leaves that critical point out. Let's see what the MRI says.

I agree with the month mark. We should be okay without him for that long assuming Gagner comes back.

Yakupov-RNH-Eberle (easily our best line tonight)
Perron-Arcobello-Gagner

Move Hemsky up if news be as well. Or even put Arcobello on the wing (but still let him take the face off).

Coach Eakins says post-game Taylor Hall's knee injury will likely "be more than a day or two" but no official diagnosis yet.
