Watching Gaudreau look like our 2nd best offensive center (and Sissons looking like he's right there too) I'm wondering how Pettersson compares to those guys? How does Kamanev.

Pettersson is an excellent passer. That is why he has 7 A in 7 games plus the 3 G; on a team that he has never seen before. Kam plays more of a power game. He likes to bang bodies out there as well as score. He is more like Neal than any of the other three.

Tomorrow night is Grand Rapids. I will try to focus on Pettersson.

From the Admirals Roundtable: Emil Pettersson glided down the right wing and cut into the circle while setting up Vili Saarijärvi as his screen against Jared Coreau. It worked a treat and Pettersson’s wrister burned Coreau high stick-side for his fourth goal of the season."

I counted 4 players between Pettersson and the goal line. He still managed to put the puck into the net. He was clever on the screen and a sniper on the play. He needs to put on some pounds (6-2, 185) and be stronger on the puck in the neutral zone.

Wisconsin plays North Dakota on Friday and Saturday so I'll get a look at Mismash and hope his team loses 10-3 both nights with him getting hat tricks in both games.

Too bad that was one of the few highlights of the game. Personally, I was a bigger fan of Jimmy O's "snow the goalie" strategy.

PS I didn't realize "Anders Lindback" is Swedish for "Marek Mazanec"... horrendous puck handling last night. He should have gotten an assist on that first goal.

Admirals played much better tonight. Goals by Harry Z, Kamenev and Trevor Murphy in a 3-1 victory over Rockford. Whoever was wearing Granberg's jersey tonight played a butt kicking game. Lyytinen played his first game tonight. He blended in well on the defense. Over 4000 fans tonight.

Other thoughts from last night's game. Cody Bass played with a full face shield. He looked thinner and 2 steps faster than last season. He made the stretch pass to Kamenev for the second goal. They made it look easy! IIRC, Bass is listed at 195. Didn't he play at 225 last year?

Harry Z's goal will go onto the highlight reel he is building. If he doesn't play in Nashville, he will be for another NHL team in the near future. That was goal 5 in 9 games. Murphy is turning into another Greg Zanon, hitting people and firing bullets at the goal. The win put the Ads in first in the division.

Was just looking at the Admirals schedule for the rest of the month and the schedule they've played so far and it's ridiculous how many times we've played the same teams.

Iowa x3
Rockford x5
Hershey x1
Chicago x4
Grand Rapids x2
Cleveland x3
Manitoba x1

I have to agree AF24. Five of ten already against the IceHogs is really out there. It is also 5 of 12 total games played!

While I am talking numbers, this is post #5000 for me.

Mismash was chosen to be the NCHC Rookie of the Month in October. After 11 games, he leads the Fighting Hawks in points.

Last night's Ads game was awful. They take the lead 2-1 in period 2. About 15 seconds later, Rockford makes it 2-2 on the way to 5-2. Aberg had a nice goal. Attendance was 6969 for Vets Day. The most fans for a game that I attended so far this year.

I wasn't present for Kids Day (8616).

Im sure the free tickets to vets helped increase the numbers. Not saying its a bad thing, its a great gesture but it makes me wonder how many free tickets really went out in the BC days.

I got 2 in 28 years. I think that they were for "guaranteed win night". Nobody ever told me that they received free tickets. I used my STH option to "bring a friend for free" a few times. Do those count? Or is it only ones directly from the Admirals? It is hard to say when the Admirals had some games with 14-17K and a few with less than 2K. One of the 2K games was during a snowstorm. I counted about 800 fans and didn't get picked for any of the contests!

I had 20 free tickets a couple years ago. Free for me. A company paid for a crap load of them and gave them to employees. I knew an employee that wasn't going to use them so she gave them to me.

The key is "Free for me." The company didn't get them for free. Thanks for sharing AF24!

Anybody else out there with a Admirals ticket story?
