Something quite extraordinary occurred in the New York market: A hockey game broke out on MSG, but almost no one watched.

Only 736 households — a minuscule .01 rating — tuned in.

A minor surprise was that 10,271 households clicked to SNY to watch the New York Titans play the Rochester Knighthawks in a National Lacrosse League game on SNY.

Aside:
“Lacrosse is the fastest-growing sport in the country, and the N.L.L. is TV friendly.â€

That officially bumps the total number of sports claiming to be the fastest growing sport in the country to 586.

Surprisingly enough, this is already being discussed in one of the 352 attendance threads already on the first page of this subforum.

Does that mean when I'm ready to post an attendance item, I should look in the ratings thread first?
