Idlar Telyakov: anyone ever heard of this kid?

Has anyone heard anything about this Russian, development camp invite, Idlar Telyakov? I saw a couple paragraphs on him while reading an SBNation article (link below). He is a Russian player who is supposedly repped by Igor Larionov. He a 22yr old, Right Handed shot, Defenseman listed at 6'9"-6'10" (depending on who you ask) 216+lbs. Not a lot of info on this kid, a couple articles regarding his invitation to DRW development camp and 3 YouTube videos that really don't show much.

He is an interesting prospect that's for sure. At 6'9"-6'10" he more than has the size this team is looking for (at 6'10" he would be bigger than Tyler Myers and Zdeno Chara), he's a right handed shot (we need), he is apparently good enough to both be repped by Igor Larionov and earn a camp invite.

No contract spots right now and no spots on D in Grand Rapids. Highly unlikely he ends up with the Wings. I think he's mostly there to do a favor to Larionov.

I think he could be signed at next summer, when some prospect contract spots will get open. We really don't have any prospect defencemen to sign then (all guys in system are signed or will stay at College) and we very probably let Fournier walk.

I think we could sign 1-2 free agent prospect defencemen more to system after this season. Telyakov and A.Gudbranson would be my signings from our camp invites.

I don't know why, but McCollum got qualified. Now to say he's still a Red Wing come October, I'm not sure.

Yes, he belongs still to us at next season. But my plan was for year after.

Ah, sorry, didn't catch that. I agree, he doesn't seem to be in the Red Wings' plans. I'd rather they develop Mrazek for a 1B option and Coreau, who's bigger and been pretty good in development camp.

I think that having a guy that tall on the roster as a 7th D/ 13th F would be amazing for us.

If we are playing a rougher team, throw him in the lineup to stand in front of both nets (clearing our crease and screening opponent goaltender on PP).
