1. He appologized ...for the owners.

then he whined and blamed the owners the entire press conference and made no logical sense.

Acted like a child.

That's about it.

I am a staunch union backer, but I will say this. After the Goodenow's press conference today, he has completely lost face in all of this. He played the blame game throughout all of this and acted like a complete pompous ass.

I also watched an intervew he did with Gord Miller from TSN and he snapped at Gord throughout the interview. He basically said that the PA wasn't at fault, the Owners are to blame for this and that negotiations are going to be extremely tough from here on in. If any player watched the way Bob conducted himself, they'll realize that he just blew it for all of them.

It would not surprise me if Goodenow gets the boot and Saskin is named his replacement. Maybe it's just me, but Ted comes across as a real intellect who knows the value of compromise. As for Bettman, I also believe that once the dust settles, he'll be replaced too. I'm thinking Bill Daly will be the replacement.

Anyways, it's a sad day for all involved. I won't point the finger of blame at anyone because it takes two sides. However, there's a right way and a wrong way to go about doing business. Bettman took the high road in his interview, praised the NHLPA for their resolve, while Goodenow took the low road and blamed the owners for the situation that we're in now. Doesn't look good for Bob.

is there any false to what he is saying?
no.. it is the owners fault... NHLPA didn't lock out the NHLPA!!!!

NHLPA didn't say publicly "take this or leave it".. If **** nut over there Mr. Mickey Mouse came back with 44...45 mil we would be playing hockey in a week.. but know he had to say take it or leave it.... the ball was in the owners court.. it was there move, and they chose not to move... this is 100% the Owners fault.... the NHLPA gave everything to the owners and I hope the NHL lose 10 teams..... :teach:

''Take it or leave it ''

WHAT A JOKE IT WAS.

Actually , I wouldn't have gave an ULTIMATUM to Goodenow (considering the offer was 42.5 millions).I'd have gave an ultimatum of approximately 46 millions.I think , this would be fair for any teams.Even for rich teams.

THAT"S FRUSTRATING ! Bettman is an idot , so is Goodenow.

But Mickey Mouse also knows that his 30 owners would not support going up to 45 million like you suggest.

The Owners, whether you love them or hate them, they know what they can spend, and 45 was too much.

Goodenow didn't think this was the case and he lost.

Most importantly we all lost a season... but this better resolve the current financial structure, cause if a gomer like Yashin gets 9 million a season again, then this hasn't done a thing for hockey.

Hey Joe Peeps...I wish you would have watched the press conferences today. You would change your tune. And your wrong, the PA gave everything...WITH LOOPHOLES. They did nothing to help fix the game

I watched the press conference...... loopholes???
the deal they gave them at 49 was for a negociation...
they were expecting them to come back....

Goodenow all but came out and said.. 45 mil would be done.. he's like it doesn't matter it wasn't offered... why talk abotu what if's they didn't offer it....

talk about being morons... the players have less to loose then the owners... players don't have billions of dollars on a team... these players can play elsewhere.... I hope the lock out for a few more year.. let the league get replacement players... no one shows up or supports them, and the league fold...

Theres your NBA specialist Mr. Bettman as your NHL commish... haha thats a joke..

2 lockout in 10 years with the same Commish.. thats unheard of..... :lol

if an ******* like yashin gets 9 mil??
or even better a pylon like Holik get 9 mil was it... then the Gm should be fired and the owner fire.. take them out and thats that...... it's the owners fault for over paying a peice of crap like holik 9 million ****in' dollars :dunno:

The players have less to lose than the owners? Last I checked, most of the owners have multi-million dollar businesses that allowed them to own a team in the first place. Most of them also still have those businesses and are making money.

The players aren't playing, they are not getting ANY money right now, and this years money they will NEVER RECOVER

In the end all the players did was give the owners some of the owners' money back with no guarantee that they wouldn't come back for it later.

Okay, lets kick out Toronto to start with.

Dont like that idea? Funny. I had a feeling you wouldnt. People usually dont when it means losing their own team.
