I’m on this project as a supervisor and because my trade certification isn’t valid in Quebec I’m not supposed to do any physical work.

I was training a worker and helped him snap a chalk line on the ground and that was enough to get me reported by one of the other workers.

I’m not stealing anyone’s job by jumping in to help for 30 seconds but some guys take the rule way too seriously.

So I'm still trapped in the OBX. Hwy 12 flooded on Sunday and each successive high tide just hands Hatteras Island its ass. They are going to try to open the road this evening but I doubt it. Every time they clear the road the next high tide deposits like 5 feet of sand over the road.

The southern portion of Avon is completely flooded too with many houses destroyed or damaged, and this storm didn't even hit us.

While we're at it, there should be a town in this state called South to counter the town of North, SC.

A brief pause where the comma is. For instance I'd say it "South...North Carolina" in referencing the city (whereas there'd be no pause in speaking of the region). Alternatively if you're referring to the region you could say "Southern North Carolina" to further remove any question.

Also I would say “Southern North Carolina” is not an alternative, but the preferred description.

I can’t even right now. I get that they need to do this before the end of the season for marketing purposes, but it’s such a kick in the balls every single year. The absolute last thing on earth they should be doing right now is asking people to write them a big fat check.
