My Zbubble is chipping on the end as well as flaking up a bit due to the blade being pushed in too far. I'm about to replace the blade and was wondering how I can cut the shaft (its about 1/2 inch flake). Should i heat it up first? let it cool? what are the steps?

No prep needed. Just saw through that bad-boy. (Of course you have to heat it up to get the blade out). If you're using a band saw go VERY slowly or the blade will chip even more.

I cut all our sticks with a chop saw with a fine tooth blade, and cut slowly. That gives you a nice clean cut and it's square. Take a rasp or file and go over the freshly cut edges to round them off a little.
