They're 6 points out of last in the nhl with Mcdavid on his ELC. How is this possible?

And if they win the lottery by some stroke of luck, what trades would they make this summer?

Takes a lot more than 1 superstar to be a successful team. It’s not the NBA.

In today’s NHL you need to be able to roll 4 lines, play defense, and be good in net to be successful.
Well I mean yes but there is really no excuse for them to not be better with a player like McDavid in his 3rd season in the league. It's not McDavid's fault but pretty well every other player with his kind of pedigree was at the very least a solid playoff team by the time the ELC was coming to an end. Now Edmonton has to fix a lack of depth with McDavid making 12.5 a year when they couldn't with him making 3 or 4 lol

At what point does McDavid take some of the blame? He's the one with the C on his chest and the 100 million dollar contract. Obviously there's many more deep seeded issues with the organization but absolving him of any culpability is just another cop out from a team with a long tradition of doing just that.

What more should he be doing exactly?

McDavid can take the blame as soon as the nature of the sport changes and 1 player can be the lone difference between a bad team and a great team. He's arguably the best player in the world and is the last person who deserves blame

Their goaltending has been awful this year too, I don't recall Talbot stealing a big game for them.
