That's good news. I hope he's back soon. He may not be worth his contract, but he's still a valuable player for us to have.

Really the only thing a broken knuckle will prevent him from doing is taking draws. It's not like he has soft hands and feeds the puck well. Could use is forechecking skills that's for sure.

I sure hope having a bad knuckle doesn't damage his sweet set of hands :)

Good to see him back though - hopefully in a real game soon.

The oilers site just says he's on IR, no timeframe.

Here's the scoop.

Horcoff still hurting

Edmonton captain Shawn Horcoff skated with the team Monday morning, but he might just be along for the ride on the nine-game, 17-day trip.

He’s still in some discomfort with his broken knuckle.

“I can’t grip (a stick) yet. I’m two weeks away,†Horcoff said.

Centres with bad hands can’t take faceoffs either for fear of getting slashed during draws.

Krueger thinks Horcoff could play 11 days from now against the Nashville Predators in Game 7 of the road trek.
