Seven Western Conference rookies make up the Hockey's Future staff current list. Three teams, Colorado, Pittsburgh and Edmonton contributed two rookies each.

No love for Mike Green... :help:

+7 leads team defense, on a line with Jamie Heward, 2G 3A, 2nd PP unit.

    Smid: -2, 0G 2A

I certainly don't think he's 6'4. I chalk it up to the normal inflating of heights in NA.

Looking at that list, Ian White should have made it on there. Eight points and leading all rookies in ice time.

This is probably the first time I've added my two cents to a "hey, my guy from my team, should be there" post - but I would agree that it's a bit sur4prising to see White missing from the list.

He's outscored a third of the list (not bad considering he's a defensemen) and he's logging the most ice-time out of all the rookies.

Shane O'Brien and Ian White should definitely be on the list over a guy like Smid, IMO.

Matt Carle ahead of Kopitar? Seriously?

  13. i don't understand why Latendresse isn't in the list, i know he started to score his goals a litle late, but he should be ahead of Penner on this list.

its kinda of harder to be a defenseman and still be competing in the point race...dont get me wrong kopitar is a great young guy but i think right now Matt Carle should be ahead of Kopitar

Check their postitions, defenseman that score high and play good at the back end should get the higher rating.
