Is he one of the power wings on a checking line? It's probably due to manager-to-manager bias on how to build players, and teams, that makes him not want to put your guy on the NT.

He's actually a pretty vanilla and boring center build with close to 400 EXP. I've come at it from every angle, but it just seems like he's not going to make the squad. It's cool though, it's a small gripe. He'll just stay with me and focus on Division I championships.

400 EXP is a lot. I have a d-man on the team that doesn't even have that. This makes me somewhat surprised. Very interesting.

Thanks! Hit me up when I can return the favor.

I'm gonna' keep an eye on this one. I'm still looking for a top line center. Even with the minus loyalty, 400 mil isn't too bad, if it doesn't push much higher.

Could just be bad luck. Do your players have low energy?

I just realized that most of my bench players have really low energy. They are ranging from 95 all the way down to 22 energy.

I also just realized that ive built my training area up 15 points higher than my regeneration area somehow...

I'm thinking that my be the low energy problem, thus resulting in the injuries.

It's going to be a long 30 days.

Trying to get rid of a bunch of players for the big sale days. I'm hoping to get rid of 12-13, but some of them I'll probably just have to fire and get it over with.

Woo, got my first ever 400 AI player. Too bad Wetzel is sitting at 6P right now.

If you use four forwards on the PP or an extra D on the PK, you should get better results. The last team I had I had my top center on D partnered with my best offensive D-man, while the forwards were my 2nd best center and top snipers. The PP was rather effective.

Well, after four years of IRL time, I've finally made it to I.1. Gonna be a short visit, but I'll be competing for the big trophies in a few seasons.

Too bad the HFboards conversation has pretty much died. :(

Don't have a link but i like 1 PP and 2 PK with this formation:

PP: 4 Forwards and 1 D
PK: Defence - Centre - Defence - Defence
PK: Defence or Best Winger - Centre - Defence - Defence

Depends on the makeup of your team of course.

I'm fairly impressed with the new feature of a seasonal player prospect draft. It has me excited for when the first one comes around although at this point in the season I'm picking 6th.

Only big issue I have with it is the nebulous nature surrounding the issue of draft order. I'm not sure how they could make that any more transparent either.

I really like the change, especially since I've gone into an all Youth Pull team. I've already scouted the player I want, and I'm currently picking 8th so it will be interesting to see how things go during the rest of the season.

I havent been on in a while..the board sure has died. I noticed some of the old timers teams dont exist any more. Its kind of sad.

Im looking forward to the new prospect draft...although I never have luck with my players. I got a goalie from my youth school with 100Q...hes 26 now and only has 258 AI. I didnt play him as much as I should have because I was up in League II or III.

Anyway..hopefully this board picks back up. Good to see those of you still here.

Well, results from the first seasonal H.A. draft are in. Here is what it looked like in Canada IV.4. The number in brackets is where I had the player ranked, and '-' means I didn't have the player ranked.

1 (1). Dave Bergeron, 15, Q95, P106, Speed, drafted by Rayners Lane (promoting to III.2)
2 (3). Dylan Head, 16, Q95-100, P88, Passing, drafted by Westfort Wolverines
3 (4). Logan Grant, 15, Q84-88, P106, Offense, drafted by YounGunz HC
4 (-). Stephen Mathieu, 15, Q73-100, P71-106, Shooting, drafted by Cabbagetown Langers
5 (-). Jay MacDonald, 15, Q70-82, P94-106, Shooting, drafted by BRAVE DE MERCIER
6 (2). Kameron Morris, 17, Q83-91, P88, Strength, drafted by Evansville Athletics
7 (-). Josh Davis, 16, Q1-84, P65-76, Strength, drafted by Winterpeg Jets
8 (11). Mason Joslin, 15, Q84-92, P94-106, Offense, drafted by Toronto Wolf Pack
9 (8). Scott Cournoyer, 16, Q84-92, P88-100, Shooting, drafted by Loch Ness Monsters
10 (5). Maurice Douglas, 16, Q84, P88, Speed, drafted by Calgary Wire Flyers
11 (-). Josh Tulk, 16, Q80-85, P65-76, Passing, drafted by Syracuse Bulldogs (relegating to V)
12 (12). Artem Sarault, 18, Q87, P71, Shooting, drafted by Spartan 300
13 (9). Ben Visentin, 16, Q70-90, P88-100, Speed, drafted by Les Habs (promoting to III.2)
14 (6). Cam Shaikh, 17, Q84-92, P82, Passing, drafted by Montreal Bears (relegating to V)
15 (15). Marcus Joy, 16, Q70-84, P88-100, Speed, drafted by Montreal Sasquatch (relegating to V)
undrafted (7). Philippe Flitcroft, 18, Q81, P76-88, Shooting
undrafted (10). Darren MacInnis, 18, Q85, P76-88, Speed
undrafted (13). Bruce Boutilier, 15, Q85-89, P88, Speed
undrafted (14). Ryan Sheerin, 17, Q78-90, P76, Shooting
undrafted (16). Zack Jules, 16, Q82-90, P82, Offense

Comments:

Vancouver Collectors were too new to the game and didn't make a selection. My Wire Flyers got Douglas, a Q84, P88 (MAX-2) which is great for picking 10th overall (i.e. I had him 5th on my list.) I kind of expected the 18 year-olds to not be as quickly chosen given the wish of GMs to get them younger and have potentially more time to get them targeted training and experience. I'm a bit surprised that 3 players chosen before my draft position were players I had unranked. (GMs can choose from 32 players their top 16 - I did not list the undrafted players above that I also didn't have in my list.)

Note that the potential brackets have been modified heavily to limit it to the possible ranges based on age and aren't reflective of the range assigned in-game.

(For PPMers, there is only 1 round in an HA division draft.)

The player you draft will affect your score for next season as if they were a regular pull. Because of this, I only ranked seven players that I thought would be worth having. I picked 11th, which means I didn't draft anyone. I was the only one in USA I.1 to do this.
