who gets your vote and why
who's the hands down undisputed best player in ncaa division 1
I know who your pick is: Robbie Earl
Ryan Potulny and Danny Irmen could get some consideration from the Gophers.
There is no way Chris Bourque wins the Hobey. He's not the best player in the nation this year. This looks like a year where there will be no clear cut favourite to win it. There a number of solid players.
I would have to imagine that Potulny or one of the CC guys are the fron runners.
how about Jimmy Howard?
Heres a question, whos the best ever Hobey Baker award winner?
My vote would be Paul Kariya. He was a great player for almost 10 years and has a chance to be a good player in Colorado.
'05 Hobey predictions:
Kellen Briggs (UMN) or Brent Walton (UWM)
Goalie Bernd Brückler might be considered.
1981 Neal Broten
1982 George McPhee
1983 Mark Fusco
1984 Tom Kurvers
1985 Bill Watson
1986 Scott Fusco
1987 Tony Hrkac
1988 Robb Stauber (G)
1989 Lane MacDonald
1990 Kip Miller
1991 David Emma
1992 Scott Pellerin
1993 Paul Kariya
1994 Chris Marinucci
1995 Brian Holzinger
1996 Brian Bonin
1997 Brendan Morrison
1998 Chris Drury
1999 Jason Krog
2000 Mike Mottau
2001 Ryan Miller (G)
2002 Jordan Leopold
2003 Peter Sejna
2004 Junior Lessard
I agree with Kariya. Morrison, Drury and Broten are the only substantial competition but come short to Kariya. Miller or Leopold could one day do some great things but Kariya is the best of the bunch and still has somewhere between 5-10 years to play.
Phil Kessel will win it.
...just warming up the hype machine.
:lol Or Gerard Coleman maybe. Sure he's in the OHL, but he is such a great goalie, the NCAA should recognize this.
It all depends what you are classify as "the best ever". Are you talking best ever college player that won the Hobey, or best ever pro player after winning the Hobey. Two totally different things. There are a number of Hobey winners that were great college players but did nothing at the pro level.
Ptoulny has a great shot.
TJ Hensick will probably make the top ten but not win it. I can't see a goalie getting serious consideration this year. Sertich and Sterling may hurt each other and split votes. It's wide open right now.
Wrong. Grant Fuhr will win.
Jon Foster- University of denver should get some votes
Patricl eaves maybe?
patrick eaves after a strong finish
None of you guys are giving Brian Holzinger any credit for his stellar NHL career.
