Took me all night to upload it:)

Get to see some Early Davydov, Ragulin and Firsov, among others.

Quality is about what you would expect from an old video.

Edit: Ill be adding extra videos and Full games I post to this thread from Now on, as well as the older ones I have already posted.

Here is Boston vs Philly 1974 game 2

Los Angeles Kings at Toronto Maple Leafs - Game 7 of The 1993 Campbell Conference Finals

1st period

2nd period

3rd period

Unfortunately, that person has now closed his YT account.

Luckily, though, there are still many other 'YouTubers' who have uploaded some great games, like this guy: MrVasilenkoK

Some of his gems:

1975-76 Super series; Boston Bruins vs. CSKA

IMHO the best game of the CSKA versus NHL series. Certainly better than the Philly game. The Soviets often look poor in their own zone (as they still did in the 1970s), but damn, the offense from Mikhailov-Maltsev*-Kharlamov line is sure fun to watch. Tretiak is brilliant, although he lets in an easy one in the 2nd period. Gilles Gilbert in the Boston goal is excellent too for the first 30 minutes or so. All in all, a nice contrast between two different styles of play.
* Maltsev had replaced Vladimir Petrov (injured?) after the Montreal game

1985-86 Super series; Quebec Nordiques vs. CSKA

The only weak game by CSKA during a very succesful tour (wins over the Oilers and the Canadiens by scores of 6-3 and 6-1, respectively). Viktor Tyumenev, instead of Larionov, centered Krutov and Makarov in this series.

USA vs. USSR, 1980, pre-Olympic game

Quite a different story than in Lake Placid, eh? 19-year old Krutov is brilliant.

And from Pavlov33ski (Miss Los & Albatross):

1968 Winter Olympics (Grenoble)

USSR vs. West Germany

USSR vs. Finland (not the full game)

USSR vs. USA

USSR vs. Sweden

USSR vs. Canada

Thornton, how does the game look in your eyes compared to the games played in the NHL during those days?

- I expected the tempo to be lower
- The goalies were better than I thought
- There was a huge difference in the physicality level between the teams
- The Canadians didn't seem to have any problems with the Soviets' speed
- Firsov played LW but was a right handed shooter. He was able to get in positions in which he could use his hard slapshot. He looked confident with the puck. Made a few mistakes. In overall, one of the best forwards in the game
- Starshinov looked better than I expected

That's awesome, great video. Who's the announcer? Kind of sounds like Don Whittman but I'm not completely sure about that (haven't watched the whole thing yet).

Gotta love the 1974 bruins/flyers. That takes me back a bit.

It was a great series. It's also a little sad to watch now as you can clearly see Orr's knee was bad enough by then that it was affecting his skating. Hopefully those that weren't fortunate enough to see Orr don't judge him on this series.
I have a Bruins/Leafs game from 71. If I ever get around to it I'll upload it. It really shows how he could play.

I would like that. I only have 2 games with Orr, both from that Flyer series, and I would love to get more.

I am currently uploading the Leafs vs Blackhawks 1962.

Unfortunately, the 76 CSSR vs USSR game had an error while loading and is unlikely to work, as did the 59 Habs/Leafs game 3 finals.

I'm not entirely disagreeing, but it didn't stop him from winning yet another Norris and the Art Ross again the next season, lol

He has more than a fair number of amazing flashes if you watch the whole game.

Also, Bobby is one of the few players in history (Mario too), that you can just watch highlight reels of and get an idea of their dominance.

He was still well beyond anyone else, no question. I was just pointing out that his skating ability shouldn't be judged on those games. Watching it back then I didn't really notice it but watching it now, the 71 game and then the 74 game it is glaringly obvious. He modified his stride to work through the pain of his knee.

I think I have the same game, they showed it on the NHL network right?

The Toronto crowd boos every time Orr touches the puck, it's great. :D

Yes that is the one. Orr gets his 100th assist in that game. I'm uploading it now. Not sure when it will be done...

Oh, where have you gone, Ross Lonsberry?

There was a top-selling book in the 1970s called "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance". Long story short: a recurring theme throughout the book was the the author "chasing the ghost," trying feverishly to find and re-live his distant past.

Sampling these video last night, I could relate.

Thanks Thornton.

Usually takes about 5-6 hours if it is over 1GB. Sometimes longer. Then the processing approval takes 5-6 more hours

It still says it is transferring the file. It's been over 24 hours. It is almost a 4gb file though. Would it really take this long or is it frozen?
