1. Three games into the new Oilers era GM Matt Kaminski was satisfied: "We started with 2 wins, but unfortunately havent been able to pick up one more yesterday vs Minnesota. But i think we can be satisfied with this 2 of 3 start. If we can continue that pace we will make the Show after the regular season."

2. The first new face in Oilers land is Craig Adams. "We picked him up off waivers to bolster our 3rd line and to gain some cap relief."

3. Picking Adams also ended the Oilers career of captain Mike Knuble, as he was send down to the farm and Need to clear waivers. "He is a tremendous person and we thank him for everything he did. We need to look Forward and at this Point we think sending him down was the right decision."

4. Henrik Zetterberg was named the new captain of the HFNHL Oilers. Beauchemin and Stuart will wear an "A" on the Jersey.

5. A couple of rumors about moving prospects Marchenko and Lessio have been around, but GM Kaminski decided to Keep them at the Moment: "Its true, we have talked about a prospect swap, but its not the time for such a Transaction. Everyone in our Organisation will get the possibility to show his value.

Oilers preparing for a big game tonight vs Phoenix. "We can make a huge step with a win tonight", GM Kaminski said.

The Oilers will rely heavily on their topline of Oshie, Zetterberg and Stastny. The trio combined for 182 Points in 156 games.

"We need a big game of the topline and from MAF", added Kaminski.

The Oilers GM hesitates to make deals before the direction of his team isnt clear. "We want to earn a Playoff spot."

In a surpsising trade the HFNHL OIlers have qcquired D-man Grant Clitsomne and Forward Gregory Campbell.

"After winning 4 in a row and climbing to the last playoff spot, we wanna show the team and the fans, that we are seriously doing everything to reach the postseason", GM Kaminski explained.

Clitsome, not only has a great name, will be used as a 3rd pair D-man with some offensive acumen. "We think he can fill in a bit on the powerplay after the loss of Edler", Kaminski hopes.

Greg Campbell is a solid versatile 3rd line forward. "Thats an upgrade to Moen and useful for next season too. Also he comes with a reasonable caphit..

For both players the Oilers shipped out a 3rd and 5th round pick to Carolina.

"We definitely wont sacrifice a lot of futures for some rentals. Both players we acquired will contribute now and also will be helpful next season and maybe more. Thats important, as we are probably not a contender right now, but we also wanna show our fans, that we want to be part of the postseason"

I don't believe this trade has been approved yet has it? Typically best to wait until you receive confirmation from the DoPP before announcing trades.

Nope not that I've seen. Guess the new guy just got his pee pee slapped.

As GM of the Hurricanes I'll confirm that something that looks like the trade mentioned might have been submitted to the DoPP.

Oilers clinched

With a 30-21 record since overtaking the Team, GM Matt Kaminski and the HFNHL Oilers have clinched a Playoff spot. "Thats an amazing Story. It was Close but with an happy end", said Kaminski.

Indeed, The Chicago Blackhawks had a 6 game winning streak at the end of the season. So the last game had to decide about the last Playoff spot.

The Oilers lost vs Vancouver, but the game was going to overtime. Again Hank Zetterberg was the most important Player with 1 Goal and 1 Assist.

He ended the season with 56 Goals and 64 Assists for 120 Points.

Henrik Zetterberg resigned

The Oilers hero signed a new 3 year 7,5 Mill deal yesterday. "We are pleased to have him back longterm. He is and will always be a key part of our Team", Gm Kaminski explained.

HFNHL Oilers Draft review (day 1)

First HFNHL draft for the new Oilers GM Matt Kaminski. The Oilers added 4 new faces to their Franchise.

Draft Day Chronology:

- Kaminski moved 15th Overall to Carolina for prospects Jeremy Morin and Mikhail Grigorenko

Kaminski: "Easy to accept. We added 2 promising Young Forwards who we think might be better than the Player we were able to land with the pick. Grigorenko definitely is a risk, but he has a lot of promising skills. For Morin we already expect a great season in the NHL very soon."

- with pick #44 the Oilers picked Roland McKeown

Kaminski: "It was a pleasant surprise to see him on the board at 44. So it was a no brainer. Can become a solid Player in the big Show"

- with pick #45 the Oilers picked Sebastian Aho

Kaminski: "With 2 Forwards in the box, we had no Problem to pick up another D-man. Aho is a great offensive Player from sweden, but unfortunately a bit underrated. He is comparable to Vatanen."

Agree. Veteran move there in adding value for the 15 pick. Plus McKeown should be a very good pro, with some real 2nd pairing potential. Surprised that he didn't go higher.

Pending league approval the HFNHL Oilers have acquired "speedy ****" Cogliano. The pending trade includes 4 Players. Rumors say Pirri and Stalberg to Philly for Cogliano and McKegg but nothing is official so far.....

GM Kaminski was tight lipped today: "When we have a trade to announce you will hear it."

HFNHL Oilers started great into season

After 24 games of the new season, the HFNHL Oilers are one of the most surprising Teams. "Ist amazing how the Team performes night in, night out", GM Kaminski said.

The Oilers were losing only 5 games of 24 in regualtion and 3 in OT/SO. "We dont look much into the negatives. We won 16 of 24 games. That Counts", Kaminski added.

And the Oilers are in the midst of an 8 game winning streak. With +20 the Oilers are also tied for 2nd in Goal difference.

The key Performers are the expected ones Henrik Zetterberg (33 Points) and Paul Stastny (29 Points).

Also Ales Hemsky, who was on the trade block during offseason, has performed well on the topline so far.

Another reason for the success: MA Fleury. 92,6 svp and 1,88 gaa are great numbers.

Key issues to improve: Powerplay only 21st in the league.
