Rich Peverely 1,505m x 4 years TB
Kyle Wellwood 1,505m x 4 years TB

According to my list I will bid on one restricted free agent where the compensation is a 3rd round pick. I only have one 3rd in 2010 and based my list on that. If possible I would like to keep my offers for both Rich and Kyle but I can only win one of them, Rich is higher on my list so I guess I will get him in the case that none is matched.

The Hawks retracted the offer to Sterling. Sent you an email I had sent to Richie previously.

No RFA sheet on Bouchard this time around? Just want confirmation on that because it may affect my 2nd round bidding.

The Rangers would like to match the offer to RFA Jim Slater.

Since you can only use your team's own draft picks as RFA compensation, I agree that you could only have made one of these offers. Hopefully they were prioritized clearly...

Ville,

Holik has retired..also, I have pulled my offer off the table for Stasny after I made a trade with NJ for Gaborik. I still had offer in place for Zajac and my offer for Pommenville was much higher than the $3.75M offer from ANA and TAM.

Brian Ellet had 2 year offer from Dallas...my email indicated that to you.

Stastny 6m x 4y (NYI, PHI)

I'm guessing that NYI offered the $6 Mil contract because Stastny had previously agreed to a $5.5 Mil offer from PHI, which I intended to match. As Hasnain has already posted, he had to withdraw his offer because he traded away the picks required for compensation.

I don't see my offer sheet for Grebeshkov listed here yet was the highest in the previous RFA thread. I had offered $3,013,000 x 4 years.

Hannu Toivonen 990k x 1 year CAR

I would also like to match this offer.

I was under the assumption that all offers were final ... ?

From the Free Agency instructions you posted (sticky thread):
VI. All offers are final.

I don't have a major issue with it, but I am confused...

Maybe because he doesn't have the picks the bid is now invalid? Could be subject to a fine though?

How could you make offers on Zajac and Pominville? You don't have the compensation to compete with the bids out now since I have your first.

He has St. Louis' first in 2010. I know in the NHL you need to be in possession of your own picks in order to compensate for an offer sheet. Is it the same in HFNHL?

What happened to Brett Clark i offered a contract that was bigger than what he signed in Montreal, but it didn't even go to a second round.. but guys i had ranked lower than Clark that i had offers that weren't even close to (my Foote offer compared to the highest bid in the 2nd round for example) that sounds like what the uproar was about last time we re-did the free agency.. but it may have just got missed with the mass of contracts that are there i'm sure there's bound to be one or two offers to get lost in the mix.

But the point i'm making is if we're going to redo this because offers that were close needed to go to a 2nd round and didn't.. shouldn't my offer for Clark; in which he was offered a bigger contract, was high on my priority list, and would very arguably get more playing time with me at the very least go to a 2nd round? But like i said maybe it just got lost in the mix.

I had to sent in my offer a week before the deadline and made the deal before the submission deadline...I retracted my offer right after the deal and Reggie confirmed it.

I had Zajac as my 1st preference and Pommanville as a 2nd preferece. It is no big deal with Stasny...I can withdraw my offer now.

There is nothing under free agency that indicates that you need to have your own picks...Reggie can you please confirm this.

Thanks

Confirmed. We have allowed this in past, although the rule as I recall does specify the "highest 1st round pick" you have, so if you have two first round picks, the team making the offer sheet doesn't get to decide which one they give up (not that this applies here).

Matthew, does this give you the information you need to be able to proceed with resolving the "prospecting" FA offers?

Yes, I will proceed tomorrow with the Lotteries and the announcements of the 2nd round of results. Tonight I will hopefully announce the procedure of the lottery drawing...
