Is the offer on Sheppard firm?

Also did you receive my resigning offer for Brassard.

Just to verify, what's the compensation if the RFA offer sheet is exactly $1,205,377 rather than over or under it?

I'll take it but the offer is below his QO. Very close though. I'm not sure if it's a requirement that the offer has to be above QO.

It is a requirement. So that's my mistake. I caught several offer sheets to RFA's below their QO, but not this one.

The Sheppard contract with Ottawa is null and void and he remains an RFA.

Brock, one more question, would all the remaining RFA players go to prospect pool until a new deal is in place? Also, would other GM be allowed to offer a contract to the unsigned players via player agent?

Yes, and Yes.

Any RFA's without a contract would now go to the prospect list until said GM negotiates a new contract with them. Of course, some players may accept their QO if the GM's look into it, others may have less leverage on short/long term deals. Up to the agents discretion.

And as far as I'm concerned, a team could make an offer sheet on a player at any time when that player is still an RFA (it is this way in the NHL, even if few teams take advantage of it. Plus we don't have arbitration).

After the 2nd round bidding, on the 2nd round of players is complete (Friday night), I'll give control back to the agents and GM's can start to send contracts to them again.
