Pelletier led all AHL rookies with 27 goals last year(8 GWG). Was 2nd to Peterka(who probably should have gone higher than Holtz) in points. Very complete and mature game with Jakob, terrific motor, he PKs, he forechecks, and has some great vision. Was pretty consistently the best player on the ice in the AHL games of his I watched.

He may not be a shiny new draftee but he has met or exceeded expectations of a late 1st rounder and is in my opinion likely to be an impact player in the NHL next year. This forum really falls in love with ceilings of the newest draft pick but in reality players like Gauthier, Savoie, Nazar, Kaspar all have a lot to work on before they get there. A lot can happen between draft day and an NHL debut and I think the value of players that have shown they can put up some pro numbers is undervalued here.

Guenther and for me it’s not really close at all. Given his tools and size he appears to be a perfect fit with Cooley and Keller. Could easily be one of the most dynamic lines in the league one day. See it comin’ a mile away!

Pelletier is going to be better than a few guys above him. I’m no flames fan but y’all sleeping on this guy. He’s quite good. He smoked the AHL. Not some junior league vs 16 and 17 year olds. Dude was picked lower than he should have been.

Guenther, Gauthier, Reichel, Pelletier and Guhle are probably my top options at this point (in no particular order).

Still waiting for Raty to become available.
During 2021-22 season had basically PPG season with Jukurit in Liiga, 20 points in 11 international U20 games, and didn't look out of place in few AHL games after his Liiga season was over (1+3 in 6 playoff games for Bridgeport).

Maybe these other options have done better in pro men's leagues and U20 international tourneys, but e.g. looking at eliteprospects I fail to see that..

Stankoven just won CHL player of the year. He has every right to be here and I'd easily take him over most of these guys remaining. People are gonna be surprised by just how good he is once he makes it. Gaudreau/DeBrincat combo

Didn't realize Räty had such a good season though, he should be on here as well of course. Several guys who had worst seasons than Stankoven to pick from
