Sakic.

Bergevin trade Weise and Fleischmann for Danault and 2nd pick 2018, acquire Drouin, sign Pacioretty at 4.5 millions per year, sign McNiven, sign Lindgren but Sakic is way better.

Bergevin is the worst... Dorion who trade Dahlen for Burrows, McPhee who trade Forsberg for nothing, Snow, Benning, Sweeney, Blake, Holland are soooooo better than him.

Bergevin does not deserve the honor to be last place, lol. Let's not give him the satisfaction to know he's the best at something (being the worst).

We evaluate GMs based on their body of work, not select trades. Bergevin's includes:

- Gutting the team's offense generation and puck moving abilities from the back end by losing Subban and Markov in consecutive offseasons
- Assembling one of the worst groups of centermen in the NHL
- Assembling one of the worst groups of LHD in the NHL
- Hiring one of the worst coaches in the NHL and keeping him around through the worst collapse in team history
- Failing to add any NHL regulars to the team through the farm system

He's bottom 5 at best.

George McPhee traded Forsberg in a panic to try and save his job(logic is still hard to fathom) for jack ****/a player who at the time was probably already a buyout target. The Capitals are a team that always look so close to getting over the hump but never quite made it, lets see if we can put our heads together and deduce the likely outcome of not making this trade...I think the Caps have a cup.

You guys talk about MB not addressing the Habs need for a number one center? Try the first line of George McPhee's management career on wikipedia on for size: "When McPhee joined the Capitals in 1997, the team was looking to turn around its long storied history of being a regular season juggernaut that folded in the playoffs." I went here to get his exact disgusting playoff record but this was just too good to pass up.

All of this and he's off to a sub optimal start with Vagas...Surprise! This guy is the worst gm in the NHL AINEC.

Oh I don't know habs have multiple 100+ regular season and have 1 series win in 4 of those 5 years, the other was because of eller subban and price, 2 he traded and the other he gives the largest contract for a goalie in history, more than all but mcdavid. You don't give 10.5 million to the guy that at most plays 55-65 games without injuries! Doesn't kick in till he is 31 and runs for 8 years!
One of if not the worst LD and the worst center situation at present in the league, on one team. This team was in good shape 4 years ago. Forces a 990 game vet to walk because our GM doesn't want to negotiate. our number 1 playoff performer is lowballed and then to prove he want him he ONLY matches after the contract is signed. Keeps patches each season despite never showing up in the playoffs
Signs Pleks to a 6 million contract when everyone knew he should have been traded for picks, pleks promptly falls off a cliff with less than 30 points last season.
For Shaw he traded two 2nd round picks (35-45) and signs him to 4 million for 6 years because he is a playoff performer that got zero points for us in the playoffs. Hawks were just happy to shed his salry and get somethign in return!
Horrible GM in last 5 years. Some of those guys have a longer track record of being bad. Bergevin gives milbury something to be happy about.

Oh yeah and going into the season with 8.4 million in cap space and nothing to buy with it.

In hinesight kinda wish i did this poll AFTER the Duchene trade if it happens. Could mean the diffy between 30 and 31 for Sakic. Because of that i think will go with Bergevin
